Post here, how far did you drive to get your new 2U 993 home after purchase...
We are seeing lots of reports on driving the 993 home after buying. Let's see how far everybody went to pick it up and get it home, and if there were any problems on the way.
From my previous cars I bought the '95 locally (MD) and it covered slightly over 1500 miles with the new owner to get home (TX) and no problems reported.
The '97 C4S came to me by carrier from TX and had to cover only just over 500 miles to get home with the new owner to MI.
My TT covered 1750 miles in three days in the first round getting it home from Denver, Colorado to Maryland w/o the smallest problem and no oil filled (it had an oil change just before the drive).
Anyone else care to add to the stats?

Can't touch those distances.
I looked for mine for a full year before I found EXACTLY what I wanted.
Surprisingly, the car popped up underneath my nose....about 100miles away.

Drove my new 95 C2 965 miles from Sunday afternoon till Monday morning, straight to work ... Indy to Boston. No problems with the car ... the 6 am sausage biscuits at McDonalds caused a severe exhaust problem, but that was not the car's fault ;-)

I bought my 993 in New Hampshire, but much as I may have wanted to I could not drive it home - there being some 5500 miles and a couple of oceans to cross. Instead, I had it driven down to New Jersey and shipped to Haifa, Israel's northern port city, where I was eagerly waiting.
The drive from Haifa to my home in Jerusalem was unforgetable. I took all known back roads, stopping off in a Druze village for lunch, and may have broken a few speed limits en route. Back then, in 1996, my 993 was the only one of its kind in Israel since there was not yet an official Porsche dealer.

My PO lives in Kansas City, MO while I live in the West Palm Beach, FL area.
My car was trucked 1,300 miles (with three Porsche race cars) and delivered to me at Sebring during the PCA 48 Hours At Sebring event. I picked it up there and drove 95 miles home.
I had my digital camera with me and took photos of myself while driving (yeh, I know: GEEK) but the smile indelibly etched on my face is ...well, priceless!
