Default Motorsound muffler part numbers

Hi folks, looking for help on the motor sound muffler part numbers. I have the following stated as a set of part numbers:

993.111.045.12
993.111.046.12

I believe that these are indeed motor sound sport muffler part numbers.

My standard mufflers are 993.111.045.04 and .046.04.

I have the option of getting a pair of mufflers labelled by seller as sports and they have part numbers 993.111.045.13 and 993.111.046.14

Are these part numbers superceding the first sport mufflers listed above? I can't seem to find a reference to these numbers in the PET or elsewhere.

Thank you!

Info I found when I was looking suggests:
(just the Bischoff versions)
(sorry I missed copying over the key - 1st number is earliest, then followed by two possible revisions)

without sound package 993.111.045.04
.13 replaces .11 which replaced .04

without sound package 993.111.046.04
.13 replaces .11 which replaced .04

early RS? M64.20 993.111.045.05
.14 replaces .10 which replaced .05

early RS? M64.20 993.111.046.05
.14 replaces .10 which replaced .05

Sound package 993.111.045.07
.15 replaces .12 which replaced .07

Sound package 993.111.046.07
.15 replaces .12 which replaced .07

...so sounds like the 2nd pair is a mix on offer?

****NB just noticed some of the cut&paste has gone wrong with the Sound package numbers above between Bischoff and Gillet.... hang on

Thanks - okay, looks odd based on that.

That's correct, the .14 = RS muffler. So based on that, the set in question is one standard muffler and one RS muffler.

  • All of them begin with 993.111 followed by:
    • .045 = left, .046 = right, followed by:
      • .04, .11 or .13 = standard muffler
      • .05, .10 or .14 = RS muffler
      • .07, .12 or .15 = Motor Sound muffler (sound pkg M159)
      • .54 = Turbo muffler

...are the numbers the same for Bischoff and Gillet? My old spreadsheet is a bit messed-up.

Both Bischoff and Gillet show the same part numbers today (they are listed in the PET with the same part numbers). I'm guessing some of the superseded numbers were the Bischoff and the later ones are Gillet.

I suppose that also would mean that if you were to want a Bischoff can today, you'd need to order a Gillet and weld on the old flange or convert both cans and cat to Gillet.

Just need the donut, no welding required, all boxes have round pipes in and out, flange changes are on the cat/exchangers

That's right. Brainfart. The flanges are on the cat to headers. Got some tunnel vision there when the question was asked and the PET mentioned "MUFFLER GILLET" AND "MUFFLER BISCHOFF".

Makes sense as the part numbers are the same. Looking at the cat itself, looks like there are distinct part numbers.
