Everyone,

After just doing a search for a car myself, PLEASE spend the money and get a month of Carfax access and stop asking the group to do it for you. It's worth the money just like a PPI is.

And before someone asks, no I am in no way affiliated with Carfax.

Get the VIN off a friend/relative's car and impress/freak-them-out with your knowledge!

I don't mean to come across as a sourpuss, but please don't promote this sort of behavior by helping. I realize that you're just being a good neighbor, but we don't need to turn Rennlist into a stopping point for shameless cheapskates that can't pony up $19 to research a potential $50 - 100K purchase.

jmtxsb, you might consider becoming a Rennlist member as well, if you can spare the $17. John D puts a lot of effort and time into running this site.

Don't assume he's not a Rennlist member ... you might assume that I am not a Rennlist member, but I am ... I joined in April, and have twice asked John Dunkle to add my member number to my profile and install my avatar, which I included with both requests. And yes, I put my Rennlist # in the subject line as instructed. Neither request was acknowledged or acted on -- not particularly surprising as I know John is busy -- but slightly vexing nonetheless. It's not a big deal, but I did join to help support the site and it would be nice that other's would be cognizant of it.

Unfortunately, I've had to cancel the Gateway event this month (as well as a Wheel Source event at Putnam), but I'm still hoping to make it to Viper Days at VIR. Too much going on right now for me to be away for so many weekends in a row. I will definitely make it down to Gateway in the near future, and look forward to getting together.
