One of my quirky habits has been to keep a single key from each car I've ever owned. Strange I know... by the way, tracking the evolution of the simple auto key is pretty interesting. The contrast between the key for a '72 Ford Torino and a modern Audi is pretty radical. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I came across one for an 1988 BMW M3, Cinnabar Red with black leather.
Doh!!
Should have never sold that car, great driving rare car with some seriously funky body panels. No torque, peaky engine and stiff nervous suspension. It was great! I really regret selling it still.
So, what's your greatest regret in terms of previous cars that you've owned?

1996 993 Cabriolet.......thought I couldn't afford 2 cars so I sold both for a M3.
Stupid, stupid, stupid mistake. 993's should only be sold for other 993's.
Still kicking myself.

The E30 M3 is rated as the BEST handling M car EVER. I would like to own one one day.
As for myself, it's a 1981 MB 380 SLC. Anthracite Grey with dove grey leather interior. The most beautiful car I've ever owned. Sold it to build our dream house for the family. Still think about that car once in a while.

My first Porsche, a beauty of an '89 911 - black, low miles, perfect. Sold because I couldn't afford an extra parking spot in my building when I lived in Chicago ($30k for the spot). I kept the M3. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The M3 kept depreciating like a stone, and I had to get another Porsche anyway. I never want to sell a Porsche again.
Oh, and CP, I'm sure you're thinking of the E36 M3. The E30, although considered the "genuine" M3 by some, would have its lunch eaten by an E36. Heck, it'll eat our p-car's lunches.

The car I regretted selling the most? The 993 I now own!
Funny this thread got started, as a couple of weeks ago I woke up one night in panic mode from a baaaad dream in which I sold my 993 and bought a 996. Within a day of selling it, I was desperate to get the buyer to sell it back to me.....but he wouldn't. Couldn't believe the grief I "felt".
The good thing from this nightmare was that I now know I don't ever want to sell my current Porsche!

I'm currently in the process of getting rid of my '03 996 cab lapis/natural brown for a '96 993TT Arena Red/Classic Grey. After driving the 993TT I realize it's more what I want out of a sports car. Hopefully there will be no remorse in letting the 996 go.

For me a 1967 Camaro RS, 100% original, flawless interior with rare power windows, original sales contract, window sticker etc. Only 33k original miles! Sold in 1994 for $4300![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Most recent regret, 1974 911 coupe, signal orange with black interior. A really nice car with little rust. rebuilt the engine and reasealed the trans... about 10 miles before I sold it, yes only 10 miles on the rebuild. My 993 purchase forced me to sell the 74. I guess thats ok then...
Just remembered another regret: 1970 Chevelle SS 454 4speed, original car with protecto-plate, 80% original red paint 69k miles![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Oh well, its not fair to look back on decisions that were made then..
Great thread BTW
