Well... Get a load of this.... Bought it for $5000 or so.. Invested $10,000 in a full body restoration and probably $5000 in parts... In the end, sold it for $8500.... and bought a Boxster...

Talk about 2 stupid moves in a row ! Then again, as much as I always loved the Ghia visually, it's hard to buy another after you've sampled a 356 - essentially the same "feel and appeal" except that it handles so much better ! Still, I wish I still had it for smile value !

Very few regrets about the cars I sold, as I always got something that I enjoyed more.

I do on the other hand regret quite a few cars that I looked at/concidered buying but did not at the time:

In 1982 I was looking at buying either a '65 Shelby/Mustang 350 or Dino Fiat Covertable. I bought a VW Scirocco instead because I thought that I needed something reliable...Being "practical" turned out to be a bad investment in the long run.

I've never sold any of my cars to an individual always to dealers and I don't think they even care how many keys you give them. And yes I did keep the titanium key from 300...just a souvenir...

My regret, was also my first car: 1967 Karmann-Ghia convertible... Red/black interior... Sold it when my parents decided that it was time to move back to the US...

No regret when sold, but sometimes the '65 GTO rag top. Besides being very fast off the line it had a great sound.

First 'sports' car I ever owned...an 81 Fiat spyder...with 73000 kms on it...it was fun to drive and there weren't too many of them on the road where I lived at the time (Ottawa, Canada)....cooooold winters. Although I only drove it 4-5 months out of the year, there was nothing like it on a warm summer night with the convertible top down.....fun while it lasted...

This car I sold in December. Looks like my long term employment issues have been resolved and I'll be moving to Winston-Salem, NC sometime this year. That means I'll be looking for another C4S!

hello Bill,

i have seen your ex-car in the LA area on occasion; and a few days ago spoke to the new owner, albeit briefly.

PS- mdr, if you are reading this- check your PM box

believe it or not, there is also a C2S that is turquoise in the area that i see once in awhile.

Hi Max,
I hope Mr. K is enjoying the car! I think I'll be looking for another interesting color car. I would love to have another Turquoise Blue but since they are hard to come by maybe yellow or something else that stands out will do.

I regret selling a 1979 Camaro Z28. This car was somewhat rare in that it was black with red interior, 4spd with L82 engine. The thing was incredible. Ran smooth as silk and you could bet rubber in 3/4 gears. Sold it to restore 1973 454ci 4spd Corvette which I still have.

Great thread! My regret is not exactly a car, and I didn't actually "sell" it. My '99 Ducati 900SS was totalled in a wreck, and I never replaced it. I think about her everyday, but feel it's simply too dangerous to ride a bike on the street nowadays.
