Yes the M Coupe is a pretty cool vehicle. Of all the modern vehicles out there, it's the closest thing to a 911 in terms of being "different". The last model year with the bigger M engine is equal to the performance of a 996 as well.

Here's my 'sports car' progression. Drove Pin's C4S with PSS9s, fell in love with the notion of a light-weight sports car. Debated between an M Coupe and Boxster S. Finally bought a Miata, super-charged and with Bilstein coilovers. What a fun car. Drove Pin's C4S with PSS9s again, fell totally in love with the 993. Sold the Miata (that I also regretted), and bought the RUF. So yeah, the M Coupe is a real fun car.
This I'll never sell.

1975 Signal orange BMW 2002.
This one I should have never sold, I think it was one of the very last of the breed. I was stupid and working overseas, didn't know what to do with it, i.e. where to store it. (I already had a brand new '82 323i lurking in my parent's garage. Back then the power-to-weight ratio of beamers made sense.)
The others all went for a good cause, namely buying something even better, except maybe switching a 1988 MR2 for a Chevy Blazer 6.2 Diesel... (I was obviously in a state of mental disarray!) I didn't need the Blazer for anything.
The next switch was a 1990 Golf G60. I still see it parked not far from my parent's house each time I visit them. Very good but no regrets selling it to move on to the 95 993.
Strangely enough I was very attached to an 1983 Golf Diesel that I owned briefly in 93/94 to commute when doing my master's. Bought it for a song, changed the suspension, engine and gearbox to some more exciting items. It was such an efficient solution to commute 100 miles a day and not worry about parking it anywhere....

Let me explain . . .
Since all 5 of our P-cars were replaced with a better p-car, the one I most regret selling is a model. It was a huge, 1/8 scale Ferrari F-40 kit that was made by Pocher in Italy. It was simply phenomenal. I bought it for $99.00, sold it for $250 and now they go for $800 - $1000 on ebay. Here's an example:

1966 Buick Riviera, 465 Wildcat, sea foam green with dark green interior. barrel speedo, flip down headlights, dual exhaust, very fast!! with four drum brakes!=scary! Sold it with 55k miles.

I also keep one key from every car I've owned...but as far as which car I regret getting rid of, it comes down to these two: 1990 Yellow 300ZX Twin Turbo (my first car) and 1992 White NSX. I almost made another mistake last week and almost sold my ZO6 but after quick deliberation, I've decided to keep it...

Call me clueless, but I'm curious - why do you keep the keys to a car you sell to a nice person who would probably want all the keys to the car he could get?
If I was buying someone's car, I'd hope he'd give me ALL the keys that he had! The valet, the nice expensive spare keys, the wallet key, etc...
???

The car I most regret selling was a 1967 Corvette Roadster. Rally Red with black interior. Factory 427 tri-power with 4 spd tranny. Numbers matching car with factory sidepipes....WOW!

1987 Buick Regal Turbo-T (AKA Grand National). Sleeper grey, awesome dragstrip performance, lousy brakes.
Should have kept that car and driven the wheels off of that instead of buying all those damn BMWs in the 90's. I could have saved enough money to buy myself a nice little TT by now. In Arena Red.
