Finally, New Pole Positions !!!!
Finally have these beauties in my car I gained about an inch of headroom which was all I needed. And the seat cushions velcro out so I can wear my helmet for those DE's I've been dying to get into. Sold my sport seats and actually made a couple of c-notes in the deal, a win/win for me. These seats are so much better for me. The car seems to communicate through these seats better than the sport seats if that makes any sense. They are very comfortable and they hold me in so much better. Ingress/egress is a little tougher but I don't mind at all. The stock sport seats were very heavy as well. After I put the brackets and sliders on the PP's I could not believe how much lighter they are than the sport seats. Headroom has always been a problem for me and luckily for me these worked out perfect. I'm a happy fella Now does anyone have any red seat belts for sale

Wow, Randy, that black leather looks great! Good choice.
Driving Impressions in NJ (800-275-4667) sells the red Sabelts, which is what I have in my car. I'm guessing there's a dealer closer to your side of the country.

MY problem with the sport seats was not the seat but rather the back rest. It was too narrow for my back and shoulders. And I had less headroom. To drive it I had to scoot my butt forward in the seat. I had no lower back support doing this and my driving position was all jacked up. In my new seats I feel completely absorbed by them and totally supported. Mine were more expensive as they are wrapped in leather but you can get them in black or red fabric for around $600-$700 plus sliders and brackets. They've got to be at least 20lbs. lighter per seat than my stock sport seats. My stockers were powered except for fore and aft.

Thanks Mark, I'm not quite ready for harnesses. I still need to get my feet wet and do a few DE's. These insurance threads as of late are kinda making me worry though. Right now I'd like to get the stock red belts for imo a better look.

Nice going - I have the PP's in my 73RS replica (fabric). If you need it, I believe that you can get a bit more headroom by using aluminum side mounts (the Recaro mounts are a bit tall and are made from heavy steel). Mine are Momos and really put the seat low.

Randy -
Those look GREAT! How did you install them - with the standard (if there is such a thing) recaro mounts? Did they bolt right up or did you have to drill holes in the floor. Did you gain an inch with the cushions in and with the stock mounting holes in the brackets and seat?
I need an inch more (headroom) and had been told the PPs didn't gain anything. Thanks!

Greg, I used the Recaro sliders and brackets. They actually bolted right to the stock mounting holes. The Recaro slider track is a little narrower than the Porsche tracks so you can't use the stock washers under the mounting bolts, unless you trim them a la Kim. They are bolted to the car with 4 bolts per seat and not the factory six bolts.
The good news is that I did gain about an inch of headroom with the cushion in. With the cushion out I can put on my helmet and sit in the car with no clearance issues at all. I'm 6'0 with a 31" inseam.
The other issue was the seat belt reciever. There was no provision for it so I had Jeff Gamroth's shop fabricate a piece and drill a hole into the side of the inner brackets to faciltate the stock seat belt. It turned out great. It's tight between the tunnel and the seat but I don't move the seats much so it's a non-issue for me. The other option was to mount a link between the seat bracket and slider but I would have lost headroom and would have been back to square one.
