I gotta say these C2S prices are INSANE....I know RPM is expensive and their cars are nice, but 66 G's for a regular 911 with slightly wider hips and a few frills? That should be a turbo for that price!! (I know I know I'm beating a dead horse, sorry).

DC is not far off the mark.
I was at a PCA social event a few weeks ago and spoke with a nice gentleman looking to buy a 993. His budget would allow for a turbo, but he was looking only for a C2 S. His logic was he loved the looks of the turbo body, but did not want the complexity of the turbo or 4 wheel drive.
Personally, for 400 HP I would gladly take some additional complexity, but this gent seems to be an example of somebody willing to support high prices on the wide body 993s.

The TT will be very costly to maintain as they get into the high miles territory. Has to do with the transfer case + second axle + ceramic valve seats which wear and drop the stuff in the cylinders (I am told)
In Europe, you are looking at Euros 40K for a good TT engine rebuild!!! OOOUUUCCCHHH

I'm assuming you're referring to the maintenance of the TT engine-wise and not the AWD system that the TT and the C4S share? I'm currently looking at a C4S and I just want to make sure I'm aware of the upkeep of the AWD compared with a rear-wheel system of the C2s.
Thanks.

The original four wheel drive system Porsche introduced in the late '80's was a fairly complex (read-expensive system). The 993 system was greatly simplfied and is not (to my knowledge) a significant potential repair item. The only failures that I'm aware of seem to relate to track use and spinning (without engaging the clutch).
Turbo engines OTOH are an expensive proposition. Historically, NA Porsches have held their values better than Turbo's due to this reason.

awd is not a major issue in terms of upkeep. i cannot comment on tt vs na engines - have read here both are strong and the major issue is the carbon buildup one, and that affects both types of cars. i would defer to other more experienced folks about this question, though.
as far a sweet cars, there was a lovely black c4s at road-scholars in Cary, NC. i saw it this past monday (and an unbelievable tts and paint-to-sample nonmetallic slate gray 3.6 turbo, and some other nice ones, too. the c4s may have been sold, but those things fall through, so you never know. might check their website. i talked to Russel. Seems like a decent guy, but i would say they are not likely to deal much.
btw - very nice corvette, too.
(my C4S is not officially on the market until and unless I find a suitable tt replacement. I want a 993 in the garage or under my foot at all times. It's not black, anyway. And if this thread is correct, maybe it's better to keep it!)
