Thumbs up Mobil 1 on sale !

Walmart has a sale on the 5 QT jug of Mobil 1, 15-50W, at $19.82/each.

I don't know if Walmart's sales are regional, but here in CT it was on sale.

Actually, this is their regular price now. They had sale stickers on it for a while ("Rollback", actually), but now they just show it as a regular price. I got a 5-quart can of 10W-30 for my other car a week ago for $19.98.
Interestingly, local BJ's has 6 single quarts for $23.88. It's easier to pour that way.

Mike - Our BJ's only has the 10-30W and was looking for the 50W Red top. Never thought about the pouring issue........

Evan, the BJ's next to my house has onlu 10-30 and 5-30. BJ's a bit further away also carries 15W-50. One of the local Rennlisters alerted me to that. So I suggest you call a couple of BJ's in your area and ask.

Pouring issue is more serious than you might think. 993 has very slow pouring, especially as you getting past 8 quarts or so. I had to put 3.5 quarts in my autocross Miata yesterday, it pours very fast, and even that was not the most pleasant thing. I can't quite imagine holding a big 5-quart canister suspended fo 5-6 minutes or more... twice.
If you do, make sure your pouring spout has a long tube and hook it up by wire to the trunklid. That way you'll have both hands to hold the oil canister and do a quick wipe of any spills. Just a little trick I came up with when I was changing 993's oil.

Mike - Thanks for the info.

You mean you need Popeye forearms for that one !

After I read your last post, I figured I would inlist my wife to help out with this oil change. I am lucky she's into all this P stuff. It's always a fight to see who drives the 993, so she may win a few once she helps out !

I enlisted my friend. He's helping me out with all my car stuff and I help him (we race together). Mind you, we did complete suspensions and other things on our Miatas before. He was looking at me funny for a couple of weeks after a 993 oil change On the plus side, we can now do it in about an hour.
