Considering the Aluminum shift/brake change from Gert, question, should I do the MY02 change or just keep the "stock" look. Also, does ~600.00+ seem a little high? Does anyone else have the same items in Aluminum for less?

jhb,

the MY02 kit looks great IMHO. 600 is probably the best your gonna do.

For what it's worth, I reckon the stock (standard) look is preferable to the MY02 stuff in a 993, but then that's just my opinion.

... and yes, 635 euros is outrageously expensive ( <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ) but I fear that there's nowhere cheaper to buy the genuine alu/leather stuff. I'm waiting to be proved wrong though - if anyone can come up with a better price then "I'm all ears" !

Hey Chris,

FWIW the quality of the MY02 kit seems far superior to the factory leather.

When I say "stock" look, I mean in Aluminum. I really cannot decide which kit to get. I like the crest on the MY02 shifter, but it may be a little "showy" for a 993, if possible.

Nice pic! Sweet match for your blue interior. Thanks for posting it. But didn't you say you just put in the sports seats? They look like my stock seats... Are they not installed yet in your pic?

$600 for the alum upgrade? Jeez - that's alot. You must be rich <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> . I will have to keep mine stock for a while, though the tip of my black interior gearshift has that little bit of alumininum which I love. Some have said the black interior is too dark and needs to be lightened up with silver or something, but I like it all black. My new floormats from the dealer (black on black) are the bomb. Much nicer than the red script on black that were semi trashed when they came with the car. Black on black offers less contrast, but they will stay clean much longer than the red script. I love clean.

<img border="0" alt="[offtopic]" title="" src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" /> Why is it that some C4S's have the "C4S" script on their tach but mine doesn't. Is that another of these famous $50-$200 "upgrades"? There are just SO many upgrades for these cars. I can't afford to do any now, except my lovely new mats ... I happen to like it the way it is, though I just bought it so it's newness hasn't worn off on me yet. Im sure I'll be thinking aluminum in a year or two as I keep reading your posts!

Hoping for a sunny day to drive the beast,
Steve

Thanks for the links, at least I can see what both sets look like.

BTW, thinking about the SS door sills as well. Will make a nice contrast.

Gee, and maybe I'll get the Aluminum 3 spoke wheel from Gert with the tip so I can add the stereo control mod and, uh oh, I think I just got bit by the upgrade bug.
