I own 1996 C4S that I am considering selling. It is arctic silver with blue leather interior. Has racing bucket seats, optional racing suspension, motor sound, stereo,. No whale tail. After market stainless steel B&B mufflers. Mileage is 34,+++. I am the 2nd owner. I bought it from my next door neighbor in 1998. In excellent condition. If you are interested you can contact me at dchawks57@gmail.com.
Thank you

congrats on the C2S... wondering where the 96 silver/blue end up?
What are some of your thoughts about the Narrow Body 993 market. Will the surge in WB prices also lift the values of good low mileage examples of NB 993's?
These prices are ridiculous and way overbought. I'm sure most of the current 993 owners would not buy at fraction of these inflated prices. All it does it makes ownership more expensive with higher agreed value insurance and less miles to prevent depreciation/accidents. Takes the joy out of these cars and frankly I don't see how they're worth it, even if they're in 60k range.
Not worth $60k?
Find me a car at $60k that comes close. Looks, feel, heritage, emotion. Not much out there comes close.
Bought my C4s at $89k. Spent a bundle to make it my own and I've put more miles on my 993 than I have my daily driver in this past year.
I. Don't. Care.
It does take a bit of a f*** it attitude, but I think what it really requires is commitment. I'm ok with not worrying about resale, because this is a dead guy car.
Resale concerns are a good way to ruin an ownership experience. You have to let that go.
IMO the people with those opinions are the ones that bought one second hand 10-15yrs ago in the 30K's and they're annoyed that if they were to buy-in now, they'd be priced out of ownership.

Yes, to a degree as some who want a WB ‘settle’ for a NB or Tip WB because they don’t see the value of a manual WB or can’t afford one. The hot cars always increase the most in a run-up and decrease the least when things settle. This is nothing new in the collector car world. My crystal ball says that the recent trend will recede somewhat as this happens and some move on to other alternatives. I got interested in 993’s in 2007 when this happened to muscle cars. My 67 Z28 increased from $27,500 to $110,000 in 8 years. I could afford it, but I was too scared to drive it. Bought my 10,000 mile 96 C2 for $28,000 on eBay and my 12,500 mile 97 C2S on Rennlist for $50,000 in 2008.
I bought my C4S for $46K cdn 11 years ago. That was a lot of money for me then (still is I guess) as I don't make a tonne of money. its just my wife and I (no kids) hence I can splurge a bit on hobbies. As much as I love my car (longest I've ever owned a car), I'm not sure I would be willing to spend over $100K cdn for one now. If I had a tonne of money then sure but given my situation now then no. Having said that, even though the car has increased in value a lot, I drive my car as much as I can. I don't treat it like an investment nor do I worry too much about rock chips etc. I try to keep the car as nice as I can but don't worry about it too much!
