New Suspension
My suspension is tired and wallowing so its upgrade time.
The guy who services my car reccomends HR shocks which contain twin coils - So they handle bumps well but are also fairly firm - but I am more tempted by M030s with Bilsteins
This works out cheaper!? and I think would be great - but what would it be like on the road? Also has anyone used Carnewal is it reliable?
Thanks
Stuart
Go with the bilstein setup. Its adjustable and more comfortable than the HR's.
Carnewal is an excellent reliable place to order parts from.

Stuart
I have had no personal dealings w/Gert (yet), but AFAIK there has never been anything but positive comments posted.

The link to Gert,s site in your original post does not seem to be the Bilstein PSS-9 adjustable shocks. The Bilstein HD shocks look to be stock not adjustable (rebound, compression dampning, etc.) like the PSS-9 kit. Does anyone know is this is the case???

Correct! Just had these shocks installed on my car and they are not adjustable like the PSS-9's.

I am considering upgrading to Gert's RoW M030 w/HD Bilstein package. Isn't that what you now have since replacing your RoW M030 shocks w/the Bilsteins? I'll be interested in your initial & longer term thoughts for street & light DE use (2-3 weekends/year). 18" wheels w/P Assimetrico. TIA

I wrote my initial thoughts last night in another thread on this forum.

Hi Stuart - my advice may differ, but as always it depends! Looking at Gert's prices, M030 + HD Bilsteins is Euro 1850, PSS9 kit is also 1850. So if you are OK with your current roll bars, cost is the same, you get all the adjustability of the PSS9 setup. If you want stiffer bars, either M030 bars ($) or RS bars ($$$) can be added later, when you have the extra dosh - realignment probably unnecessary.
Just another view! HTH, Cheers, Maurice.
PS Have found Gert's service exceptional.
So are there allready bars on my 95 Model - if thats the case, damn not sure what to go with now.......
What difference would the M030 bars make over the standard?

Stuart, presume it is a basic 95 narrow body without M030 (see option sticker). Also presume shocks are stuffed, and it has not been lowered by other means.
Cheapest improvement - Bilstein HD shocks - no lowering, probably needs alignment and definitely corner balancing.
If lowering required - see previous M030 or PSS9. M030 with HDs will allow ride height changes, has stiffer roll bars, must be realigned and corner balanced.
Likewise PSS9 with standard roll bars, but shocks adjustable for stiffness.
PSS9 + RS roll bars - as above with adjustable roll stiffness.
All prices at carnewal.com - your choice!
Cheers, Maurice
