Default Element fire extinguisher

Hello,

Is anyone using the Element fire extinguisher in their 993?

I would like to get one, however I’m curious if anyone has installed one in their car.

Thanks!

What agent does it use to extinguish a fire?? Anyone have a photograph or technical data sheets?

Thank you!

I keep one in my cars. Fits nicely in the door pocket and/or glovebox. I can't justify spending more money on mounts for it that add weight and don't put it within any easier reach. Plus it's not that pretty to look at, but it sure is a LOT lighter weight than my previous setup that was only accessible from outside the car with the seat tilted forward.

Easy to store, hope never to use it. Big extinguishers probably best for track cars.

I've got two cups of coffee in me that prompts me to ask...
I'm a little confused, doesn't one pull the trigger after they own one, and then it needs to be replaced?

I ordered an Element last night from Pelican ... the 5-10-15% discount also appears to be extended through Jan 3.

Found out that Rennline now has mounts specifically for the Element that allow you to attach it to the under seat-mounted Rennline fire extinguisher bracket, so a very nice, if somewhat pricey, mounting solution for the Element.

Do these cars have a propensity to catch fire?

I'll be damned if I let my car burn down because I didn't throw one of these in the door pocket, and you never know when someone else may be in need.

Great suggestion and find! I'm going to order it. I have the full Bret Krause type for w extinguisher and seat mount. Great for the track but not for daily use.

As for these cars rapidly catching fire? I don't think so, but I have seen one on fire at some stage on my life. This is a great piece of insurance to have! Just in case!

I'll get one for my truck as well.

A couple of my friends installed them in their BMW's. They mounted them under the seat. My one friend did a video here.

There is also this video, which shows how well it actually works.

For those that aren't familiar, it is a smaller fire extinguisher than most and lasts for an incredibly long time. It's what I would buy. But personally, I'd make sure that my car is properly insured with the best coverage, agreed value preferably and walk away from the car if it was on fire.

Attached mine to the adjustment bar on my Recaros. Velcro straps.
