Hi All,
I recently joined the club and Im happy to report a recent purchase.... a 1998 Carrera Cabriolet, ocean blue exterior with metro blue interior. It is a local vehicle with no accident history. Ive already made a few additions to the car, mainly because of the suggestions made on this forum, so thank you all for that! The first is a new convertible top as the original top had been patched by the previous owner, and the rear window was quite hazy. Many members recommended new image customs and they did a fantastic job. Highly recommended! Second addition was a set of new cocomats. They just arrived and I love them. The company was great to work with and they even allowed me to add a custom dead petal, as the one on the car was quite warn. Now the car will sit until I can drive it again in the Spring. Cant wait!
GREAT looking cab!! Welcome to the madness. Metro blue is one of my favorite interior colors and the first one I have seen in a 993. And, hardback sports seats to boot. Very cool. The CoCo mats look great too. Just know that we are here to help you fall down the slippery slope. It appears you have a good start.
Congrats! Very nice looking car. The tweaking, modding, sorting, is a marathon, not a sprint. Take your time, do your research and tap into all the knowledge this place has to offer. Some folks here know these cars inside and out and are always willing to help. These cars are addictive and expensive. Have fun. Best of luck with it.
Thank you so much! Yes, the seats needed a good cleaning and reconditioning as they were extremely dry. The nice folks at new image customs also touched up a few cracked spots with dye to match. They look much better already. Ill be sure to reach out some more as I get to know this car and find out what other improvements can be made...(within budget)!... because I know it would be easy to get carried away.

Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. From what I can see the members of this forum are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about these cars. Ill definitely have some questions down the road! Cheers
Congrats! Please post some pics of the car in the sun when you can. Love the color!
The only shots I have in the sun were taken by the detailer after he completed a deep polish, chip repair and added a ceramic pro paint protection. If anyone is looking for an excellent detailer in the GTA (Toronto area), I highly recommend Toronto Buffing, ask for Chris. He transformed this car.
Hi OB,
Congratz! Very nice example and color! If your car is going to sit for a while consider a battery maintainer that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Also, add some fuel stabilizer to the gas and run it a little so it is dispursed through the fuel system.
When I lived in Cleveland Ohio with its long cold winter season I would go out once a week or so and start the engine and let it warm up to the point where the temperature gauge began to move into the normal operating range. Machines especially 25-year-old ones don't like it when they sit for long periods, seals begin to dry out, become stiff and leak and fluids have problems if not exercised.
My new owner guidance on a 993 is to not overfill the oil!
It is easily done.
