The 996 model come off the production line like cookies.
In the long term, the rarer older cars will reward you with a better financial return.
This is also why we got the RS instead of a GT3. Though it is awesome too... but not the same thing.

You car should easily meet the "Show and Display" exclusion criteria. You will only be able to drive it 2500 miles/year.
Do not federalize the car by trying to convert it to full DOT specs (as was popular in the 80's when the grey market was booming). That process will cost a fortune and destroy the car.

Maybe possible to bring it in under the "show/display" ruling and be limited to 2,500 miles per year. I would still have to get EPA approval. Anyone have any advice?
BTW, this is absolutely a raw and wild car. I will post details and pictures soon.
Thanks.

Congratulations!
you got the white Beast ! Is that the one with plate numbers GTZ 9XX ? or the other one?
I belive there were 172 units of 993 GT2 road version 430 (incl. the club sport) produced ,and another 21 units of 98 sepcs or evo 450hp were made.
Is your GT2 a OBDII ? interesting!! Since my old GT2 was a OBDI, but it got the M64/60R engine.
I belive one of the problem for you to get the EPA approval might be the aluminium doors and bonnet and the light weight thin rear glasses, things that the last 21 units 98 spec. or EVO do not have, like the alumium doors.Because it may not meet the safety standrad in US.

Hi Carrera Mike. The car has less than 5,000 kms (3,000 miles). I can understand why. The streets and roadways here leave a lot to be desired!!! Ask JWKC, he has a beautiful 993 GT2 and a customized Supra here.
I'll be posting pictures soon. Have to buy another camera, my son took mine to Shanghai.

Bryan

Hi JWKC! Here is a link that states the total production number of 993 GT2 was 202 with 50 of these being road cars (43 left hand drive and 7 right hand drive). A further 25 EVO spec cars were made in 1998. Check out the link and let me know what you think. http://www.qv500.com/porsche993p5.htm

Hi Carrera Mike. The yellow car in your post belongs to a friend of mine. It is a 993 TT with full GT2 body kit from the factory. He also changed the suspension to that of the GT2 and had the engine upgraded with the factory kit to produce 450 hp. He complains that he is losing too much top end speed to the new GT2 so he is considering taking off the front drive which he believes will reduce the weight by around 150 kgs. (330 lbs.).
Cheers,
Bryan
