Yes German engineering, why would one want to clean their headlights if they are not turned on! Like a Jetta I once owned. Why would one want to unlock the truck when moving? How about to open it a little so the recently cleaned interior can dry out! You know, us crazy Americans using stuff in ways it was never intended to be used. Cupholders in a sportscar, really?

Yah! We could probably start a "Frustrating automatic things on cars".
I'd like to add the "auto-antenna" function on radios in cars with power antennas -- insists that a power antenna goes UP whenever you turn on the radio -- even if you're using an MP3 player, USB or AUX-IN port, or Bluetooth.
In my 66 Mustang, I inserted an OFF/ON switch so the antenna won't move unless I tell it to: "Sit, Stay"

Advanced convenience technology, it's there to help. The ultimate automotive expression of this is self-driving cars, very convenient with the value-added feature that when it suddenly gets you killed you will have no memory of that inconvenience it caused.

I never knew my car had headlight washers. Does anyone know if they are effective?

It's a common user delete if you update or change your bumper.

Thank you! I am the original owner and the car is original as delivered in '95. I never knew the car has headlight washers, so I had no idea how to use them.
Now I know. Are they effective?

Cup wheels on a sports car, not cupholders!

The washers are in the fenders and deleting them is a separate job, other than paint.

Mine work great now

Thanks for the correction! They look great! I have never used mine, hate to say its only been driven in the rain one time.

35 year old technology has the antenna covered - off, half way, full way

Haven't tried to see if it knows if cassette or radio is used.
