Default HRE wheels, continued

All those who expressed interest in my HRE 545 wheels, I spoke to John, the VP of HRE (very nice guy, btw) and got the following info:

1. The wheels are indeed 19x8.5 and 19x10.
2. They have 50mm offsets, front and rear. Which is ideal for a narrow body car but would work on a wide body car as well.
3. They are forged, I just wanted to confirm that.

4. Experimental finding - the dirt comes off with some cleaning

For those who are going WTF? just about now, a small recoup. I ended up with 4 HRE 545 polished wheels from the previous owner. Two rims are bent and have to be either repaired or replaced (these are true 3-piece wheels, so outer lip can be replaced). The others are somewhat curb rashed. I have no use for them and am trying to figure out wheter to sell them as is or fix them first.

If anyone has an idea on the value of these in as is condition, let me know please.

Thanks!

The PO should be smacked for treating such nice wheels so badly.

Huh? Oem 10" rears are ET65 for a NB & ET40 for a WB. Wouldn't they be about 1" too far out on a NB, a condition not correctable w/spacers? Am I missing something?

Dan, thinking about it, I think you're probably right. John mentiond that they design the rears to be "a little more aggressive" on NB. It looks like they pushing them 15mm out compared to OEM, which is about 5/8".
Is that right? I'm not used to positive offsets Or is it 40mm for NB and 65mm for WB?

It's 40mm for the WB and 65mm for the NB. I think a 50mm may actually fit a narrow body 993 in the rear, although fender rolling may be required if the car is dropped.

There wheels were definitely on my C2 cab before I bought it, so they fit. The ride hights is standard. PO did not report any problems with rubbing (other than curbs)

I think they would fit with rolling. RH makes a wheel that has an offset of 52 and it fits a narrow body.

Good luck,
