Need help finding my dads Speed Yellow 993
Just like every one else, we’ve all had that one that got away… Fortunately for me, I have not had that (yet), however my father has.
we are trying to find his 1995 Porsche 993 C2 In speed yellow, here’s the hard part, we are still trying to find the VIN.
Some features his car had
Factory Xenon lights (he purchased these lights from Porsche in the 90’s and installed them himself)
Yellow Brake calipers (he had sent the brake calipers to Champion Porsche back in the 90s to be powder coated and painted)
Factory Yellow seatbelts
He outlined the shift **** direction in yellow as well
Factory Yellow Gages
Factory Turbo Twists
We are in the process of trying to find the Vin to make it easier.
he sold the car either in 2004 or 2006, last he knew of it, the car was in Florida.
The most unique thing about this car that sets it apart from any other speed yellow 993 from 1995 is the Xenon headlights as they were not found on C2’s.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Consider retitle the thread to something immediately obvious. A lot of people may overlook a riddle. Maybe “help me find my dads speed yellow C2S”
just a thought

Thoughts:
- +1 on renaming this thread.
- For VIN: have you checked w/ Champion Porsche to see if they've retained the record? Or your dad's insurance carrier at the time? Or shops that have serviced his car?
- Say you found it. Then what? Buy it back? If current owner isn't in a mood to sell, are you prepared to sweeten the deal visibly above going market price...?

Insurance carrier can and will help. May have to go through some “proofs” of who you are and when it was retained. I’ve done such one before electronic devices where in your pocket on the daily.

if I am fortunate enough to find the car, the goal would be to buy the car back or at least keep in contact with the current owner until they are ready

Good luck.
Total sidebar - this reminds me of when I tried to hunt down my old watch. I had an IWC that I wore through medical school and residency. Got married wearing the thing, had all kinds of experiences good and bad with it. For some stupid reason I decided to sell it.
Fast forward 10 years later and I somehow managed to hunt down the guy I sold it to...only to find out he traded it at a watch swap several years prior without any record or receipts. Lost forever.
I hope your dad finds his car. What a great story if he does.

Good luck in your search. People have a hard time just getting service records for their cars these days due to privacy laws.

I would start by contacting the local PCA's in Florida and see if they have seen the car. You may want to look on websites too for any event photo's. Good luck in your quest
