Me and my buddy were going to CNC some
pedals and I got a good idea on the clutch
brake and dead pedal but the accelerator
is plastic? does the al pedal just screw on to it also??
Does that Accel pedal come out easily so I can let him
have it for a week?
DO you have to drill your own holes for the pedals
when installing? It appears to be the case. No biggie
just wondering.

OG, be very careful of dead pedal. I now have a Rennline pedal laying here and _there is no way_ it will work in my cab. The angle is all wrong, it doesn't sit flush to the floor or perpendicular to my foot. Pelican lists it as a pedal for all 993s and 964, but it simply ain't so. I'm more confused now than I was a few weeks ago.
If someone has a good close-up of _any_ dead pedals in both coupe and cab, please show them.

Mike, can you return it? I got the set from Gert and the deadpedal fits flush with the floor. I haven't had a chance to take a pic yet.

I got it from a private seller, but I can sell it on eBay, no problem. I still very much want a dead pedal in the car, so I'll let it lay here until I figure out what fits and why. I used to be an engineer. At this point it's just an experiment
If you have a chance, please make a pic of yours installed. If there is a good pic of it before installation, I'd love to see it as well.

My Rennline dead pedal fits perfectly. I can't imagine theres a different pedal box between coupes and cabs, but you never know. I bought mine about two years ago; perhaps the design changed?

i am waiting for my rennline deadpedal from pelican.
judging by the part numbers, the pedal that fits our 993s is the same as the '89 and older cabs/targas. (the '89 cab/targas had extra steel reinforcements in that area compared to the coupe's, hence the difference)
i will post a picture once i get it....and if it fits
Mike, i also have a rennline pedal for the >89 coupe....i'll take a comparison photo so you can see if it is what you have.

I got my pedal set from Renn-Line too and it fits perfectly. My car is a coupe.

Mark, I'm not sure now, but I think the design might have changed.
Max, Keith, pictures would be greatly appreciated. If you tell me which pelican number you got, that would help too.
The reson I need pics is to compare the left side of the pedals. Mine is flat with two mounting holes, I think I saw some that were "lipped out" at an almost 90 degree angle.
So far I'm hearing "fits well" comments from coupe people. I was thinking that teh floorpans of coupe/targa/cab should be the same in 993, but the creeping doubt is forming as I type this.
I hope to figure it out and maybe put it in an FAQ, since the issue seems to be unresolved for others as well.

Here's a pic of mine. The dead pedal fits and feels great, and it screws in down by the floorboard, so no need to punch holes up where the pedal actually sits. The gas pedal is a full replacement including the hinge. I also have the gas pedal extension in this pic, which both raises the pedal and brings it closer to the brake, allowing easy heel-toe. The whole set is from Rennlist sponsor AJ-USA.

Peter, two questions:
1. Is it a 90 degree bend, or less?
2. Does it screw through the side piece?

Bonus question - does dirt/sand get behind the dead pedal?

I bought the AJ dead pedal and it did not fit in my Cab either. Though, I have heard coupe owners had no trouble.

When I pulled back the carpet there was no notch in the floorboard that the pedal was made to fit into. The meeting point between the floor board and inner wheelwell was a tight fit. When I placed the dead pedal in the obvious position, it was 5/8 over the vinyl rest pad. I trimmed it down and though it fit better, it was not really functional. Tossed it.

The Tip Cabs must be a bit different.
