Default Lower cam cover leaking

So my lower cam cover was leaking so I had my gasket replaced. Driver’s side lower. Gasket was replaced and I continued to have leaks around the bolts on the bottom of the cover. So bought a new cam cover and gasket. Still wet around the bolts on the bottom of the cover. No leaking from the top. Not terrible leaks but still wet. Not sure what to look for next. The car has 123000 on it and was resealed at 112000. No other leaks to speak of. Any recommendations?

Did your shop replace all the bolt donut seals when gasket was replaced?

I tried several times over the years to get my valve covers from leaking. Usual culprits for it not working were over tightened socket head cap screws and suspect gaskets. By suspect I mean you can see tears in the gaskets. I'm pretty sure my last set came from Summit Racing and they were good.

Another must do is to use Curil T - great product - helps seal the gasket - doesn't dry hard.

Sorry, just reread the thread, I was thinking valve covers, not cam chain covers.

Good advice here so check this out. The donut seals are often the culprit.

I know they were reused with the new cam cover

Thanks guys. So this is the lower valve cover and I don't see any thing but the cover, gasket and the bolts. I don't see any donut seals

I think a couple folks may have confused the lower cam cover with the timing chain cover on the rear of the motor. You are correct, there are no donuts on the lower cam(valve cover.

As for the leak, fresh gasket, a little Curil-T or dry, and torque all bolts to 7 ft-lbs is usually all it takes.

Sorry, my fault for reading too quickly. I was thinking rear chain cover gasket/donuts.

You know the weeping only comes from like three lower bolts . Not anywhere else .

Put a new gasket and new bolts with gasket sealant more around the bolts seems to have fixed my leak. Thanks everyone.
