+993 on the above list. Everything on that list will enhance the overall driving experience. Getting more power out of these engines is difficult unless you want to spend $$$.

I would add a set of Fister mufflers to the list. They don't make it any faster, but it makes way more fun.

My list of must have's in no particular order:
1. Coils
2. New bushings/ball joints where needed (front control arms, steering rack, front ball joints, front inner/outer tie rods, rear toe arms)
3. Proper alignment with a shop that knows 993s
4. Golden Rod + SSK + new shifter tube bushings
5. RS engine mounts
6. Adjustable gas pedal
7. Lighter rims
8. Exhaust
9. Start removing weight

Replace the old original vacuum actuators on the Varioram and vent cut over in the engine compartment. If they are still original they probably aren't working anymore:
See this page: Power Robbing issues
I found that an aftermarket strut upgrade profoundly improves handling.

Andy has a point. The first $5k and absolutely valuable, will be the deferred maintenance of PO. How old are plugs, wires, dizzy cap, ISV, brakes, CV boots, steering rack. These cars are plenty fun when they’re running right so I’d make sure you have all the horses the car came with first.

Check the date codes on your tires. Mine were 6 and 8 years old when I got my car and they still looked ok. I had no idea how hard they were or what a difference new tires made. Also, a double ditto on new engine mounts and (at least) front lower control arm bushings. Those two things transformed my ride, handling and shifting - and I thought the car was fun to drive before that.

With a cab, I would leave the exhaust alone. It will get loud if you go too aggressive. Also, chasing hp will get expensive quick. Best bang for your buck will be focusing on suspension and transmission.

1. PSS10
2. FDM Goldenrod and short shift kit
3. RS wheel carriers and tie rods
4. RS motor mounts
5. Porsche Classic Nav Radio

then hardback sport seats, wide ovals, 3.8, short ratio gearbox.. lol

Make sure you have a windscreen or your cab top will get beat up at speed.

If your cab has 17s and you go to 18s you will need to make sure your car has the upgraded steering rack brace.

Also, make sure to post some pictures of your car so we can be more helpful spending some cash for you

The RS engine & trans mounts bring a little more NHV, but absolutely firm the rear end up. After installing, mine no longer felt like it had a drum of hydraulic oil slushing around out back.

I'm a little biased, but an IMMO BLOCK would be a nice upgrade for the 98.

The RS motor mounts will tighten up the feel of the car, handling and shifting will improve. I would avoid any changes to the transmission mounts, especially to aftermarket as it will bring a lot of noise.

In case anyone else didn't know what NHV is: https://www.porscheengineering.com/p...cle/acoustics/

Noise, vibration, harshness.
