993 floor mats
I have searched the Rennlist sponsors to na avail. Does anybody know where to find (OEM) porsche floor mats, I'm looking for a set of midnight blue, mine are a little faded.
Thx for your help!

Thx DJ, my local dealer doesn't even have key fobs, I'll keep an eye on Ebay though.

I have had very good luck with calling some of the large Porsche dealers who advertise in Panorama and Excellence (Hendrick in Charlotte, for example) and just mail-ordering factory parts; my local dealer is not very impressive in my opinion and has a limited supply of parts and accessories compared to the "big guys". I have found better prices as well. If you don't have either publication e-mail me and I'll send you a few phone numbers.

The folks at Schatz they were very very nice when I had communication about some RS seats but I did not buy them as I bought a set of factory sports seats.
Good luck!

I recently purchased a new set for my car from Gert. Although not shown on his site he seems to be able to supply pretty much any 993 parts.
If you were thinking of getting other stuff as well you may well find the savings cover the shipping.

Just ordered anew set of classic grey mats from a dealer who advertises in a magazine that is Excellent when it comes to Porsches. The advertised price is $99 for the set. About the cheapest I've seen.

I recently ordered factory mats. They suck big time. They had no hole in them where the factory plastic nut goes through them to keep them in place. Instead they have that dumb clamp that pins (literally, like a sewing needle through the carpet) to the floor. The overall quality is worse than the original as well. Apparently PCNA changed suppliers since out cars were built.
Someone posted recently that Lloyd mats make the good ones like what came with your car, and I think they may have been the original OEM supplier. Do a search.

I also remember from that recent post that the mats from Lloyds did not have the word "Porsche" on them like the original mats had. In fact, I think the word is that nobody except the dealer is gonna have have mats with the Porsche logo on them due to copyright issues. Is that right? I'd love to get my hands on some new mats that are identical to those that came with my car...at whatever the price is, but from what I hear, that is impossible.

Everyone this was a previous post I made....
The Porsche factory mats that they now supply suck!! The dealer gave me a brand new set for my 1997 when I bought the car in the spring. Real junk material and those stupid clip/spring things to hold them in place.
Gabe at Strasse (877-944-9911 or website www.strasseusa.com) sold me a set of mats a few months ago that are the original, high quality mats that came with the 993's. They were made by Lloyd. Apparently Porsche got a better deal and are now made by brand X.
I bought a set of mats from Strasse that were IDENTICAL to the black ones in my car when new and are beautiful quality. They are made by Lloyd. Only problem is they (Lloyd) are limited to what they can embroider on the mat. Cannot use PORSCHE in block letters. I had mine made with 911 stitched in. Red lettering on black mat. Looks great and same hole to secure.
Suggest you call Gabe. He can fax you a list and style of what they are permitted to stitch into the mats legally, without getting sued by Porsche.

Hey Guys - Happy Holidays,
A couple of you have mentioned a hole in the mat to be held in place by a plastic clip. My originals came with a strap connection between the mat and under the seats. The strap was sewn into the mat for the connection.
I thought these were originals, but a may be wrong, but I haven't seen these mats with the hole, nor do I have a plastic clip.
Please advise - Thanks,

Swiftii and Jeff,
The original mats come with a reinforced grommet hole and a plastic nut to hold the mat in place. You'll see a welded in (threaded) stud on the floor sticking up just fwd of the seats.
Gabe can get you the Lloyd mats and they come with new nuts.
