I thought Dixon smelled a bit fishy after noting that his first post was a sales pitch.

Here's a pic of Gert's FPB:

Here's a pic that Dixon sent me by e-mail:

Here is some text from Dixon when I asked if he originally purchased the bar from Gert:

"The bar is the bar offered from Gert, but I did a few things to improve upon it. I polished the stainless bar to a mirror finish and changed the plastic end caps to stainless caps."

I purchased these form a guy in Belgium. I will go try and find this receipt scan it and send it to someone to post on this board. I am currently in Ontario (HENCE THE IP) for business and visiting my mechanics affilate shop here. I will be returning to NY in 3 weeks.

This is becoming a hassle. Whoever gave me money for a bar and believes I am a SCAM ARTIST I will send the money back to you. THIS IS WHY I OPTED FOR PAYPAL AS IT PROTECTS YOU THE BUYER. I'm usin gmy sister's account Mable. I had so many e-mails requesting paypal. I don't have paypal, but my sister does.

I feel I'm being treated very unfairly and I am very insulted. Whoever wants their money back E-mail me ASAP because I have them packed up and ready to send out.

So are you denying that you are "Pierre Tien"?
Why don't you post the name and phone # of your mechanic so someone can verify who you are?

You should feel embarassed and apologetic. You grossly misrepresented yourself in several different ways on this board:

- You used Gert's term "front protection bar" to describe your product

- You stated both publicly and privately that this was Gert's bar (not just "from Belgium"). Gert is a well-respected member, and you had no right to attribute the manufacture of these products to him without his knowledge or consent.

- You stated that you had three left over from friends not coming through on their purchases, but now you have 15 (or more). Clearly, you did not end up with 15-18 units by mistake. Either you are manufacturing these, or you are buying them from a copycat manufacturer with the thought of making a profit.

You made this sales pitch with zero history on this board (at least, under this name), and you wonder why you have achieved little respect with your unethical copycat behavior and ever-changing story.

Rennlist is a community built on trust and mutual respect. You have done nothing to build these qualities in your fellow Rennlisters. For your own good, I hope you will use this experience as an example of how not to conduct business in the future.

Hi, Dixon,

The bars in the photo you sent LOOK like Gert's bars but they could very well be knockoffs. I have never seen one of Gert's bars so I don't know.

Here are my feelings. You dealt with me in a friendly manner and I respond well to that. However, you have said that these are Gert's bars but Gert says something to the contrary. You can't deny that that would raise suspicions. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that perhaps Gert doesn't recall the sale. Gert should be able to check his transactions for your four bars. Gert should also be able to check his transactions for the fifteen bars your mechanic purchased.

You definitely added fuel to the fire, and put me on alert, when you said that you had fifteen bars. Fifteen! It seems VERY coincidental that you spoke to your mechanic within the past few days and that he told you that he had fifteen of the bars that needed to be sold. Logic would tell a rational person that the seller is perhaps selling Gert knockoffs. A story that shifts and changes is inherently inconsistent and your story has changed. The whole situation smells a bit funny and that subjective assessment has not been lost on the Rennlist community. This is a VERY tough crowd, as it should be. Online scams are but one color of the whole rip-off spectrum.

Further compounding the problem is the issue of "Patrick Tien" or "Pierre Tien" (according to moderator Viken) having had previous problems on Rennlist, according to Viken. The PayPal name where I was to send money to is, in fact, Patrick & Mable Tien. If it is merely coincidence that your relatives Patrick and Mable share the same last name as the person under suspicion, Pierre Tien, you cannot deny that it is one HELL of a coincidence that your payment contact shares the same last name as a person who has had problems on Rennlist. This does not quell any concerns that a buyer might have.

If your bars, wherever you got them, are in fact stainless steel, look great, fit great and are made great, then, great. One of my to-do's for the Porsche has been "knocked-off" (don't normally do puns but it just came out) my list. However, you did say you "bought them from a guy in Belgium I think it was Gert or an affiliate of his." If Gert nor you cannot come up with documentation proving the sales, then you did not buy them "from a guy in Belgium I think it was Gert or an affiliate of his."

There are just so many inconsistencies and red flags with this transaction that you have left many people here wondering.

I am not Pierre Tien. Call my mechanic (will e-mail you the number after this post) I'm sure he doens't want everyone to call him and bug him about this topic. As long as one person can confirm then it should be fine right?

I don't know if they are from Gert. I bought them as FRONT PROTECTION BARS from some guy in Belgium. If this guy in Belgium made knock offs and sold them to me than I must have knock offs and got scammed too. People who I sent the photots to told me that it looks like Gert's bar so I assumed they they were. From the picture above it goes on exactly as how mine does on my car. I think the polished one looks nicer.

Like I said If you want your money back E-mail me and I'll refund it.

If it looks the same, designed the same and works the same isn't that ok as long as you protect the front of your car?

I have nothing else to say about this. I don't want to defend myself anymore.

If you want a refund E-mail me... if you want the bar you will get it.

I apologize to Gert for using his name. I was sold this item as a "FRONT PROTECTION BAR" so I sell it as how I got it. Isn't that what you would do ANIR? If you bought a "Rolex" wouldn't you sell it as a "Rolex"? I bought the front protection bars and I am selling thm as what they are Front protection bars. There is no other way to decribe it.

I didn't state that they were GERT'S bars. I said I purcahsed them from a guy in Belgim. I got many e-mails telking me they are or look like Gert's bars. So I am sorry for assuming that they were. Since Gert (the maker) says they are not his I then they aren't... that's the bottom line in the end right?

I'm not making profit how can I at 130 dollars?! I paid 160 Euros x4 and my mecahnic 120 US for each of his. I'm losing money.

I'm a new memebr how can I build the turst. I'm trying by making sure everyone who paid for a bar gets their bar. You haven't given me a chance!

Can't anyone else on this board live in Ontario Canada?! I'm sure I'm not the only one. Sheeesh

Please don't assume things
