Mimmo,

All I do with the engine is use a product called "Carbon-X" and hot soapy water. I cover everything vulnerable (distributor caps, electrical) with tin foil. Best to do it with the engine a little warm and the rinse water evaporates fast. I'd stay away from the pressure washer. "Carbon-X" is used a lot in the aircraft industry and is safe for aluminum, steel, magnesium, etc.

Mike-

Great job... Car looks beautiful. Very tasty choice in upgrades.

How do you like the HD/030 setup compared to the stock suspension? How many miles when you switched?

Thumbs up

Hi Mike,

Your car looks superb! Now if I can only just stop doing stuff on the house maybe I can at least detail my car to get somewhere close to what you have. Do you know if the engine cleaner is sold in the UK? Also, what do you use on your seats/interior?

Cheers,

David

Kelly:
My car has about 26k on it and we did the Bilstein HD's and M030 just when the car went into storage. I've only driven it 8 miles last week for the first time when the roads were dry and salt free. Felt great and a lot more secure than before - of course 8 miles is not much of a test drive, but I think I'll be happy with the change.

David:
Thanks. "Carbon-X" is usually sold through aircraft cleaning supply companies and can be purchased in 1 gallon containers. You can see the product on line at "Sporty's Pilot Store". This link will give you a product description to chase down in the UK. I like it because I know it will not corrode anything metal or harm paint. This is the product that I use on the TT wheels as well. Great for removing brake dust and carbon.

On the interior, I just use Lexol on the leather (what little there is) and Vinylex on the vinyl and plastic.

Ciao
