How are other Clewett users bypassing the belt sensor? I have the “!” And belt light lit. Is there a method to jumper it?

Yes, create a simple jumper that plugs into the existing belt sensor plug. You can make a tidy one by opening the belt sensor housing and removing the electrical plug. Make a jumper out of this and then simply plug it into the harness.

Great suggestion to sacrifice the old belt sensor....hadn't thought of that.

I didn’t do anything as fancy as Andreas. Think I shoved a small fuse into the connector to act as a jumper then taped it up

Andreas,

I noticed at idle, my tensioner oscillates a little. Wondering if that's normal. Love to send you a video.

Normal. Use your hand to bump the throttle and you’ll see it move far more.

Great....thanks for the feedback. I was chasing down a small harmonics/resonance about 3000-3800k rpm.

Yep absolutely normal to oscillate. I play with the throttle just to watch the tensioner dance on the serpentine belt

With everything pulled from below, the typically-wet chain housing covers can be removed and new gaskets installed.

Another 993 moved to the non-OEM V-belt dark side. Just installed the Clewett system...for no reason other than being bored out of my mind during the lockdown. Took care of the wet chain housing covers, installed new motor mounts and replaced the power steering belt. Now what? This lockdown better end soon before I take on an even crazier project!

This is a major job correct? You literally have to drop the engine or remove a lot of the back.

Actually not as involved as changing timing chain cover gaskets. Need to remove mufflers, cats, engine carrier and rear tin. Andreas has a nice "how to".
