Post p93 side skirts

Does anyone have pics of a narrow body 993 with the side skirts Gert sells? Do they look the same as the factory installed turbo / 2S / C4s side skirts? Thanks for the help.

No they're totally different. The side skirts you refer to are from the narrow body RS. They are not the same as those on any widebody car. Take a look on Gert's site under the RS aerokit and you'll see them. They are normally left unpainted black plastic.

They are really hard to see, but try this link:

Or try 993RS's home page:

Side skirts for P93 Cars

Part details :
Used in combination with the aerokits.
Contact us for more information
p93058

The above info is from Gert's site. Gert sent me a email ( thanks Gert), but it is hard to tell if they are the same as the factory installed wide body cars. I think you guys are refering to the Rennsport Aerokit (p93045), I am looking at the Side skirts that are pictured all by themselves. Thanks for the help.

Dan:

You're right. Sorry I didn't read your post a little more closely. I'm glad Gert was able to send you a picture of the correct side skirts.

OK, I see what you mean now. I'm not sure exactly what those are. They look like normal plastic skirts for the narrow cars which are hardly visible anyway as they are mounted under the steel rocker panels. I don't think those are the same as what's on a turbo at all.

This is an idea of how they look...now that I look at the photo...it is hard to see the skirts.

Note, they are easy to install!!

Martin

I'll send a better jpeg this weekend if desired.

Hi Dan,
I understand the confusion here. The p93 side skirts are an item that Porsche produced in its Tequipment Program and really didn't market at all. These side skirts are totally different from the Turbo/C2S/C4S side "skirts" which are an integrated, welded on extension of the rear fenders.

If you can find a 993 Tequipment brochure, there is a clear pic of them in there. As I recall, they are mounted on a Turquiose color 993 with a ski rack. While they do a better job of finishing of the lower part of the car, they are little too conservative for me.

I considered these for my car, (Polar Silver 95 993) but they really are not as bold of a look as the TechArt or FVD skirts.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!
