Agreed.
TE37 SLs shown here on my 6 GT3

These are my lightest wheel set by a noticeable (when lifting / mounting) amount.

Super Lite, even with a pound of plast-dip on them...........................

I got a quote recently for HRE R101 Lightweight wheels. 18x8 was 16# and 18x10 was 17#. They were the lightest I found in my search but they're over $2k per wheel so very pricey.

My R101 were pretty expensive - I spent more on them then I'd care to admit. They have a custom finish and are beautifully made wheels and so very light. The difference in feel is pretty significant. Between the wheels and lightweight flywheel, the car was transformed from stock. But yeah - it's more than most people would want to spend and I can't blame them.

FWIW - I wanted to verify the weight savings per tire using a scale...was happy with the results

This is a great thread. Also looking for lighter option for my 4S. What is the recommendation for a light wheel with wide body fitment that doesn't have so much recess in the rear (like of e88, Fikse and others). That has always been my hesitation moving from the turbo twist. Front and back look the same and I always like the "flush" look.

I could be wrong...but with the hub position relative to the wide body - I'm not sure you can get a flush look with a flat profile wheel and have it be lightweight. The mounting pad would have to be pretty thick to get the fitment you're looking for. You could use spacers, I suppose.Your best best may be hollowspoke Turbo twists.

Thank you for the response. And I would assume using spacers would defeat the purpose of looking for lighter weight?

Being at the hub and relatively light weight means the effect on rotational inertia is probably not that huge. It's still unsprung weight, so effect on the suspension is there, but also may not be that significant.
