I'm sure the car would be fine, but I'd really suggest putting on the undertray, because there are a metric poopload of nooks and crannies to get salt and junk crammed into.
I drove my turbo in the snow a few times and it drove great.
Yes, that is why C4 are popular in snowy climates in Europe. It's all about the tires as my wife drove an '86 Carrera to work every day in Cleveland winters not problemo but with four real M+S rated snow tires, not the all-season variety. We would show up for snowy winter local PCA meetings and get really strange looks for driving in winter.

I am driving my 993 c2 allover in the snow with these studded Nokkean tires on all 4 corners. The car is in Sun Valley ID Idaho (a little ski town) and is rock solid through the snow and ice!!!!

A C4 will be fine but plan on extra cleaning and detailing in the spring. I have been regularly winter driving my C2S (in NJ and PA as well as occasional trips to northern Indiana) since I bought it in 2002.The front end is a little light in snow but traction has never been an issue.
During those years, I've worn out two sets of snow tires (17") and just installed new Pirelli Sottozero 3 snows two weeks ago.
Used my cab for 4 years with Pirelli snows and 100 pound sack of sand in the frunk...no issues other than height of snow for front....I went places a Jeep could not maneuver...
We don’t use ice melt or salt in our roads. They do gravel it when it gets bad and I don’t take the car out with the sand and gravel on the road. I don’t want to mess the paint up. I have a Toyota landcruser as my main driver.
I was looking at a friends 996 C4S last night and thinking I would make that my daily with snows in the winter. I didn't tell him that since its his "baby"....
When I bought my C4 here in the US the plan was to daily it year round. When I realized how good a condition my C4 was in and how badly people drive in inclement weather around here (NJ/PA), the C4 became a fair weather car that stays inside during the winter.
I’ve dailied Porsches including 911s year round in Germany including plenty of snow, never had a problem (always had dedicated all season or winter tires though). I have no doubt that if I threw a set of snow tires on the C4 tomorrow, I could drive through anything short of an unplowed blizzard.
