Default CD Storage Console

Ladies and Gents,

Curious to know if the green and black CD storage compartment shown in this pic is standard? Obviously not using this item nowadays. Thoughts on replacing it with a storage compartment? Is there such a part and thoughts on removing the CD caddy?

Thanks as always.

Yes. There was also a cup holder (not a very good one) option available. Sorry, don't have part number handy.

A blast from the past!! We all had those and all are long gone. P makes a little open tray that will go in its place. Good for a cellphone or wallet.

I’m sure Suncoast or Gert has the replacement trays.

I had the cassette tray. Even more useless. Easy replacement with the OEM open tray. Good for sunglasses and/or cellphone.

I have one of these cup holders, didn't know they were a factory option. I got mine from a guy in the UK who made them years ago. One could order the plain OE bucket and make the top for it wrapped in leather or vinyl rater easily. A good and easy DIY project. As far as the function I have found it to be very functional and if things leak the cup captures the moisture so it doesn't get on the leather or carpet.

That cup holder is not a factory option, its a modified factory open storage box, as Andy says, made by a guy in the UK. The cd holder was a very expensive factory option back in the day

Same here. Easy/great mod.

Particularly odd in my car - it had the cassette tray but no cassette player. One of the prior owners must have replaced the CR with the CDR but left the tray.

My bad. I thought they were an option. They do look original.

It looks like the kind of thing that would cost $$$ back in the day. Now, sadly, it’s just a useless plastic box. Tray replacement here I come!

I bought the leather-covered cupholder from Pelican and love it. Holds my tall, Starbucks coffee travel mug perfectly, as well as soda cans. Holes are too small for Gatorade, though, but it's NBD.
