I have always used PAR porsche in New Rochelle, they are a consignment shop so they prefer to sell their own cars, therefore I fell that they give thorough PPI.

Pete,

Email or PM Todd (Speedraser) here on the 993 forum. He will know what shop you should use on LI. I would follow his reccomendation.

Pete, this is the exact place I was thinking of. I believe they also
advertise(d) in the current month's Excellence.

Thanks Mo!

Geez, Mike, you put me on the spot .

I have heard good things about Formula, but I have no experience with them personally. They are the closest shop I know of to LIC.

If you can go farther east, to Huntington (about 45 minutes from LIC), Autosport Designs is very competent and thorough.

Pete, if I can be of any help, don't hesitate to ask.

I used Mark at Formula Motorsports in L.I.C. and he is EXCELLENT. I have no affiliation except that he has done a couple of things for me since. His shop is immaculate, he only does work based on word of mouth, his assistants are fine, too. The only negative is that he can be a little arrogant sometimes, but that is his prerogative -- he is one of the best for over fifteen years.

"Since" in my previous post was referring to the fact that Mark at Formula did my PPI and he was very accurate. I also have used Rennwerke in Elmsford (about 1/2 hour North of the city, near Tappan Zee Bridge) and all I asked them to do was detail the car, but Cheech gave it almost a full PPI before he returned it to me. This shop (Rennwerke) is also immaculate and the "free" PPI was very accurate.

I took a full tour of the PAR facility in New Rochelle and was very un-impressed. The shop is a mess, which to me is quite telling about the kind of work they do there. I haven't used them, and probably won't as I have Mark (near my place of biz in L.I.C.) and Cheech (near my home in Scarsdale) to do all the work that I have.

Just my $.02!!

You could try going to Lynmor Motors out on LI... I have had good experiences with them. Ask for Chris; I think he owns the place. He can seem impatient and condescending at times but he seems dedicated to his his work and knowledgable of the cars, which is what really matters. He mentioned once that he is the head tech guy for some PCA chapter, fwiw.

On Parcars, you will find varying opinions on this board. Some people rave about them, others have had questionable experiences with them. I haven't figured out why there is so much variance there.
