Default 993 turbo GT2 conversion

Hello everybody:

i’m
finishing up my GT2 conversion based on a 1996 Turbo and I’m looking for a part . I ve been struggling to find it and I’m wondering if one of you has maybe a source for it .

it is the rear seats carpet , the top one with the embroidery “GT” on it .

below is a pic .

thanks to all of you for inputs !

Did you try Gert at Carnewal?

Did you try LA Dismantlers?

Did you try Canepa?

You will have to get it custom made, Lakewell in Belgium make great carpet sets.

https://www.lakewell.com/en/porsche/993

You could also contact Bob at Appbiz.

@LexVan

thanks for your response ! I think LA dismantler only deal with used parts and a 993 GT carpet would be I guess à miracle ! Lol I didn’t try Carnewal and didn’t know Canepa ! So I’m gonna try right now !

thanks again

@trophy

That’s what I though ! It might be easier to find one with the RS logo , but it seems the “GT” one would need to be custom made .

thanks for your link !

It's basically the same rear tray cover as the RS as prior posters commented with a custom embroidered GT logo , never quite got that far in the rear of mine
! Once that roll bar is installed it's a beatch getting anything behind the seats , Bert

Yes I think you're right , that is what i'm gonna do. I won't have any roll bar in my car . What I wanted to do is a conversion of one of the 67 road cars so It won't have any roll bar .
It does have the front strut bar however .

So far here is what i did :

Body/interior :

Sunroof delete
Headlight washers delete
RS/GT2 Rear windows with wipers and 3rd light delete
RS/GT2 Steering wheel
RS/GT2 Shifter ( even if i don't like the light Chinese plastic feel , will see how it does using it )
RS/GT2 Door panel
Central console pocket ( to replace the turbo one wich holds the sunroof switches)
Rear Seats delete
Recaro pôle position in black leather with grey insert and Recaro logo delete - back of the seat painted polar silver like the car
Complete GT2 body kit by Getty design ( i got an original Euro C2 bumper and have the 3 peices GT2 extension installed like it should be )

Chassis :
Front wheels drive and diff delete
Full coil over conversion ( H&R)
Uniball all around

Performance :

Muffler and cat delete
Fabspeed byass exausth system connected to original tips
Fabspeed " fake" carbon air box with K&N inside
PROTOMOTIVE PACKAGE wich is :

K16 Upgrade to billet 16 GXT compressor
Rebuild turbos (2) k16/k24, bearings/seals
upgraded turbine
5 bar fpr fixed 1/1
OBD2 993 Turbo OTP ECU Performance tuning
Ultra light flywheel
Reinforce clutch

My goal was basicly to get an almost exact conversion of the street version

The only notable difference is the wheel , since i could not find any " good enoough " Speedline alesio at the moment .
I chose to go with victor equiplent Le Mans in 19 with the soke painted bronze .
That is the only personal touch on the car , but after all i like it so its the most important things !

Car is almost ready, should have it next week ( i'm super excited my car is at the shop since may ! )
i will still have to :

Remove the original carpet and install RS perlon
Have the headliner replace ( without sunroof lol )

Thanks for reading !

I will post some pics in the next post

There is still work to do , this week they are supposed to remove back seats , instal the Recaro , set up the suspension ( rise the car a bit , Reduce Camber)
abd à lot of small details to make it perfect !

but I should get my car by the end of next week !

Still needs to set up the suspension , reduce camber and lift the car a bit

Looks nice yah, mine is in my avatar going back to my shop for a set of euro bumpers I had painted this summer ..
not enough room here to list all the GT/ RS upgrades I made almost four years ago of course sunroof delete, and FWD delete,
ligtened interior with leather Pole Positions as well .
most of the money spent in paint body mods and suspension , well the 10.5 X 12.5 X 18 Speedlines Centerlock were no inexpensive endeavor either.
I do have a set of K24's just waiting and an S ECU along with straight pipes but likely this winter after my '95 Cup clone gets out of the workspace ...haha

@budge96
Black car are the best looking one ! I wish I could have found a black turbo but I came accross that Polar silver wich was a great deal . I had just sold my 94’ 3.6 Turbo and I could not resist .
Todd form Protomotive told me my car should be about 550 Hp to the rear wheel . I really really doubt about that since the car should be about 380 stock ( 400 hp@ crank) but he’s really well know as a specialist for the 993 turbo so will see ! I ll get the car dyno , but if I’m anywhere close to the 500 I ll be happy .

fir me the best mod ever was removing the front wheel drive ... a complete different car !

Looks fantastic, no mention of the GT2 wheel carriers though?

@911PERVY
Thanks ! What do you mean by wheel carriers ?
( sorry English is not my mother language so sometimes I miss one or two things )

if you mean the type of wheels , I did look for the Speedline Alesio for quite sometimes and could not find anything “decent” ( used one in bad shape or shady replica )

it will be the only thing not original on the car , I went with VICTOR EQUIPMENT LE MANS in 19 inch and I had the spike painted in Bronze
tires are 255/30/19 on the front on 9,5 rims
and 315/30/19 on the rear ( 11.5 rims )
they are within - 0.2% of the original turbo 18 diameter with facture tires on the front and + 1.8 % on the rear .
the good news is with the selected off set I don’t need spacer.

No, wheel carriers or uprights, the GT2/RS ones help with a lowered car, you must change these along with the trackrods if you want to run GT2 spec height
