Seats - Sell or Hold?
Folks,
So a while ago I put Waldemars in my car and I love them. The question is this - should I sell or hold my OE seats? I'd rather not store them (don't have a lot of excess space) but I wonder if it's better to keep them for a theoretical next owner.
FWIW - They aren't really original in that the prior owner had them recovered at a cost of $2500. They look amazing. I just prefer the hard back sport seats. If it matters the left seat is "Full Power" and the car has/had "Comfort Package" so the right seat has some power too.
Thanks,
Tim

Your seats look great! Are they power and heated?

I would keep them -- the money received now would not made a difference I imagine and you may never have the opportunity again to have such nice stock seats. Even if you don't want them the next owner might and you can sell the hardbacks.......

Make room, keep the seats, be able to reverse your mods if desired later or next buyer may want your car with as many original parts as possible.
Value might be a thing if the years go by.
Im personally keeping everything I change or replace, Including old gaskets. This has been helpful on several occations.
I also bought a couple of lightweight bucketseats recently, and I would never disgcard the OE softbacks just because.
Only reason to sell would be financial challenge, mad wife or if you just dont care (yolo).

Keep them if you can.
You can get a storage unit for $60 bucks a month. I did it just for stuff like this. I have my old wheels in storage.

Your seats are beautiful. I agree keeping your original parts. The issue, at least to me, is affordability and that issue is personal. Some members sell or discard unneeded items. Good luck whatever you decide.

Keep them, the next owner will want them and having original seats in good shape increases the value of the car. I would spray them with Lexol leather conditioner before storing them so the leather doesn't dry out. Once the Lexal pulls into the leather and is lightly buffed I would bag them and store them in a climate-controlled area in the house.

Bought a set of full leather pole positions for my 993 6-7 years ago. Kept my original seats in the loft of my house, taking up space. Decided recently to sell them and got a decent buck for them. I figure if I ever sell or am too old for the recaros, there will always be an option to buy another set of similar or upgraded seats!

I have a black pair of OE seats in nice shape for sale in the "993 for sale/wanted thread".
I just installed factory sport seats, and I am selling my OE seats.
