Smile 993 replacement-new "old" Porsche

I sold my Polar silver 993 a few months ago. Here is its replacement. A 1987 all original 930 with low miles, sport seats.. I was not really in the market for an other Porsche. However, there is something about the look of a 930 I always enjoyed.

Loved my 930. Mine was silver with black interior. The boost in that car was addicting, especially when it went to one bar...

Al,
Your car looks great. It's easy to see why you couldn't resist.

Very nice. How does it compare performance-wise to the 993? I ask because the road tests show very similar acceleration figures. I have to think that, once the 930 is on boost, it feels a good deal faster than the 993.

Thanks guys.
Speedraser. I have not had a chance to drive the car, being that its winter here in Michigan. When I brought it home, it seemed to me that once on boost it was a little quicker then my 993. It will be a few more months before I can start to drive and enjoy the car.

They are really close in accelleration but the 993 has the top end (930 tops out 155 in 5th)

Al Z,

Absolutely stunning! I've always like the 930's proportions...sensuous and mean at the same time. And the Black with tint and black-center Fuchs with the satin rim lip really does it for me! That and Guards Red are my favorite 930s ...I would love to have one myself, or even a turbo look just for the sheer beauty of it. Enjoy it!!

Fishey,

The 930 had a 4-speed until MY '89, when it got a 5-speed. If I recall correctly, the top end is supposed to be 162, while the '95 993 will reach 168.

Thanks Wsp964 - I am not quite sure what the previous owner used. I have used Zymol and PS21 on my 993 before. I have not had a chance to detail the car yet. I drove the car from Chicago area to Michigan. All I did was wash the car when I got it home. Although, the paint is in excellent shape.
