Now that ya'll will have the jackstands you need to do a group buy for the jackpoint and towhook.

I thought the very same thing and would be very curious as to the cost - I've looked at these and had a very difficult time justifying paying $265 for the product (otherwise it would already be on my car!).

Rick,

I forget what we paid. Maybe someone with a better memory than me will chime in.

We had 2 options, jackpoint and towhook or just jackpoint.

I'd be in for that. Let's see what kind of deal we can score.

I just called them and it would be 20% off. That may be better price than last time.

I would be interested if they work on a turbo.

I was chatting with a friend who is a welder and who also has a 993 this morning; we're wondering why you couldn't just make a simple angled bracket out of flat stock steel...I'm not a graphics artist but the sketch below may help illustrate what we chatted about (note: it's not drawn to scale). I forgot to draw in the mouting holes but they would be about 2/3 the way up on the vertical plate and on either side of the angled plate.

The thought is a basis L-shaped bracket supported by an angle section in the middle - he estimates that he can build it out of 3/8" flat stock for less than $50 and stainless for about $75-80.

Any thoughts? Any issues with this idea?

I think the custom L piece sounds like a great idea - the jackpoint is absurdly overpriced for a very simple device.
