I have always wondered about what was offered by the factory and dealers during the 1990s era. Early cars had tons of available extras; Travel Kits, Bulb kits, fitted luggage, trouble lights, Carburetor jet kits, first aid kits, and so forth, by both the Porsche and aftermarket companies marketed by the Porsche dealers.
In the 90s it seems like very few items other than the Boutique items (suitcases, Briefcases, sunglasses, etc). Euro cars came with the warning triangle and the red first aid kit. I saw a 964/993 bulb kit being offered, see attached pictures, at $150. I have a Porsche boutique catalog from 1994 and it has lots of frivolous clothing and "fu-fu".
Anybody have any very rare or unusual add-ons for their 90's Porsche? Porsche 993 Bulb Kit Bulb kit
I added the factory retro-fit armrest kit way back when. Special ordered in Classic Gray as an accessory. Memory says it was $300 ish at the time. I think the last time I saw a post about it the price was like 10x that amount.
Does anyone have a link to a pdf of the 993 techequipment catalog? That is where the accessories are listed.
Reminded me that I have a Techequipment original brochure. Dealer gave it to me when I bought the car. Anyone want to try and order a genuine 993 rechargeable flashlight?
I have the factory phone console (aka ‘Bat’ phone) in my car. Some people dont like it bc its big and dates the car. I find it unique and a nice conversation starter.
