If only it were so here...particularly when an SUV is baring down on you and the driver is focused on the phone's number pad, not the road...BTDT....

Bob B. Your reference to that previous thread was a good one - a great Tip thread for sure.

As to the topic here, problems related to moving the shifter out of park have all been related to the twisting and upward pulling on the **** while trying to move it out of park. A clockwise twist with a downward push puts it back where it is supposed to be and the button re-appears at the normal height.

I had a similar issue also when I removed the plastic shift gate and added a 6 - speed leather shifter boot - needed everything in its proper place so that park was fully engaged and the switch in the console triggered so that the key would come out.

I like the much improved look of the 6 speed shift boot over the P-1 shift gate.

On the money I reckon - but surely this should not happen, the shifter should be locked into place somehow?
