Yes. It's not hard. Amazon sells the tools if you don't have them. Example below - I used the Porsche ones in that kit to pull my CDR-210 for repairs.

All of the above is correct, unless you have a 1995 with the CR-1 cassette radio. There is no way to recover the radio code for these radios. It has to be sent to an independent radio shop and they can reset a new code. I went through this with my '95.

Chuck, I think if the CR-1 is original to the car, the Porsche Dealer can obtain the radio, alarm codes, etc.

Another possibility--open your ash tray and flip down the metal spring-loaded flap inside the top--I've see some radio codes there.

There is also a credit-card sized piece of plastic with the code number sometimes found vehicle documents.

If your radio is original to your car, your Porsche Dealer will have your codes. Depending on how well your Porsche Dealer knows you, you may need to prove ownership of your car. Bring your registration card and your driver's license.

Hi guys,

I found this website after a long search : http://www.radio-code.lt/
You can retrieve your radio code for free (just need to register with an email address though).
Put your radio serial number and the website will return your radio code.
I checked on a Becker Traffic Pro and the code works so this website is legit (no affiliation). No need to pay to get your radio code back.

Just FYI for 993 owners.....if contemplating radio change and it came with an Alpine OEM CD player/radio, there was no code needed, which is nice....

Only those awful people at Becker would charge to get your code back. How's that for customer service?

I have a 1995 993 with a cr-1 and after replacing the battery need the code to reset radio. Here is the picture from the ashtray. What part is the code?
