Default Is it normal for a car to come out of alignment in transport?

I had my car transported across country last week and the alignment seems to be different. It's a bit more skaty in the front making me think the toe has changed. They do pull the straps pretty tight and it is directly on the wheel. Does anybody know if it's common for the straps on the truck to move the alignment?

Sounds like you’re on the right track. I’ve seen things cranked down so hard they bent parts. Certainly have it checked out if it feels differently than you recall.

It will take an alignment or it won't, call the shipper and let them know of the issue so if it won't take it you can demonstrait you contacted them shortly after transpotransport.

Yes. My adjustable RCA on my 3TT broke from being tie down during transport.

Toe wouldn’t change unless something has bent. Seems unlikely, but I guess it’s possible. Caster or camber could possibly change, since they are both friction fit - possible if they weren’t torqued down enough at last alignment and/or there was a huge side load. You could get it on a rack to check or buy one of those home toe/caster/camber tools to check yourself and put your mind at ease.

Here’s what I’ve got:

Silly question, but did you check tire pressure?

the alignment being "off" is likely the result of something tweaked or broken

What about bent? Couldn't something have been bent without being tweaked or broken? Or does bent fall in the same category as tweaked, or tongue in cheeked?

Time to get some eyes underneath the car. If something is bent/broken you don’t want to find out at speed. Jack it up and take pics and bring back to the list if you need to confirm.
