I’m in the process of ordering a 4 post lift and am going through this same effort right now. Not sure what brand you are looking at, but I used the installer locator on the BendPak website to talk to a few local installers they recommend. Their search tool can be found under Support > Service Locator on their website.

One very good tip given was to have it delivered to a local shop that had a roll-off flat bed. They can pull it out of the delivery truck at their location right onto the flat-bed, backed into position at your garage, and then “slid” off for install. There will obviously be a fee for the flat-bad, but it sure makes life easy to get it into position!

these guy's did my lift. I bought it from them and they set it up in 2 hours. Gary bloom 1-800-334-5438 I had a two post installed and found out the floor wasn't thick enough so I had to cut the floor and re cement . I had this guy install lifts in my shop in 1993 with no problems with them so when it came time to install at home I thought about doing it my self but you need a fork lift at 250.00 a day so it was a no brainer to just buy it and let them install.

That looks good. I think I’m going to get a four post.

Just need to be creative about moving the opener.

Can your our guy do the motor, etc?

he does every thing but the electrical hook up. I thought about a four post but then I started thing about this thing 8" off the floor 220" long to kick and when It's up to hit my head on. If you want it for parking get the four post If you want to work on your car the two post is much better for our cars. with the two post remove the arms from the center and your garage is almost wide open like no lift. I thought hard and long about this.

about the opener I changed the tension springs to torsional spring and the opener is mounted on the wall and connects to the torsional spring shaft. my opener is a lift master. plus they raised the track for my door.

In the past 16 months I have had two Challenger 4 post lifts installed in Stamford by two different companies. The guys I would recommend are:

Accurate Automobile Equipment
Queens Village, NY
718 468 8805

Both my lifts are the model CL4P9S.

First one I bought from a place in CT, nice guy, and he had his own recommended installer that screwed up the install. Ended up calling to have Challenger send out a repair guy and Challenger sent out Accurate.

Second lift I bought from Costco for $3990 installed. ( They only sold them for about six months) I ordered online. I got a call from Challenger to arrange install. I asked Challenger if they could send Accurate and they said "sure". I did pay a little extra to have it bolted down because install did not include bolting down. Price included drip pans and the standard ramps.

Pretty sure Accurate sells lifts also and you can negotiate what you can negotiate.

10' 8" this a lift that is for low ceilings. the nice thing is I put the Porsche all the way up and I still have 6" before I would touch. The Ideal height is 12'1" then you can have overhead cables. just don't skimp and buy a cheap lift some of the steel is no good on these Chinese lifts. I've seen on the automotive forms the arms bending and cars falling on people. I do this for a living I watch safety videos all the time. mine at the shop are 28 years old. still look like new. 3600 installed

Thanks for the info. I’ll give them a call. Still wish they came in blue still
