Default Tiptronic issues 993

Hello fellow 993 friends

Got a problem (huge one) with my 993 C2s 1996..

First the car started slipping, then it only worked in reverse. Now, its not going anywhere...

The symbol of a gearstick is illuminated red in the dash, and I get the following errors in Durametric:
Fault 48
Fault 82
Fault 3
Se pic...

I have sorted a used gearbox for about 1500€, but it would be nice fix the old one.

Any ideas?

Cheers Mike

I think the problem is that your car has a Tiptronic

sounds funny, but try first to clean all the micro-switches in the housing of the shifter, than all other connectors
Than check the control unit under the passenger seat ....
if all fails, then think about a replacement gearbox ...

Make sure there is ATF fluid in there. When did you change it last?

Are you using the latest version of Durametric?.
My experience is one can get all sorts of invalid codes due to communication issues when using an older version.
May be why the codes you are getting are not in the library of valid codes for a 993.
Durametric Ver 6.5.5.12

Be sure to uninstall the old one before installing the new version.

Tiptronic is very fussy about fluid type, cleanliness and fill level. Take the pan off, change the filter then do a flush making sure all the old stuff is removed. When you refill it, run the car for a while and recheck the level. The level needs to be damn near perfect for the trans to function properly.
