Yeah, Elfer1 suggest that to me. Should have listened to him.
However I did take his recommendation to use Molykote 55 O-Ring Grease on the valve cover gaskets.

I bought an inductive bolt heater about ten years ago- only have needed it a few times, but it's perfect for situations like frozen exhaust bolts.

Heats fasteners without flame.

That's a pretty cool tool. Bit pricey though.
Honestly, I was a little concerned about using a propane or mapp gas torch around all that caked on engine oil and penetrating oil.
That's why I opted to just remove the HE.

They are kind of pricey, but in retrospect I should have bought an induction heater when I started having trouble with the rusted header nuts. The Stomski drill jig wasn't much cheaper...
