Post jamboob (JimBob) has got to go...

<img border="0" alt="[offtopic]" title="" src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" /> This Bubba "thing" has not made one single positive contribution to the 993 Board. I'd suggest giving him the boot. He makes the List appear as a Clown Show rather than a forum of mutual help. He/she is pathetic and in his/her feeble attempts to be funny, could not get a laugh from a dead person. Assuming he/she can read, i would hope the she/he's feelings will be hurt and she/he will just go away. Hasn't she/he got something better to do than clutter up the Board with idiotic ramblings <img border="0" alt="[blabla]" title="" src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[blabla]" title="" src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[blabla]" title="" src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" /> ? I know, it is Martin Luther King Day, and Junior High is closed. I am afraid that Jamboob (she/he jams up the bandwidth) will have unlimited access to his mamma's computer and he will be contributing more of her/his useless and idiotic posts. If we want to me humored by a dim bulb junior high school student, we'll buy some Beavis and Butthead DVDs. Maybe he/she will go over to an AOL chat room where she/he belongs. Hopefully we have a big <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" /> for Jamboob soon!!!

I have made this suggestion to the Board Moderator. I do hope they consider my request.

I couldn't agree more -- he is not helpful and that is what this site is all about.
One other thing -- we should not allow off color humor. Both sexes participate and I'm fairly certain some of the recent "humor" (skunks etc.) was found to be offensive -- it was to me.

First of all, I think it is sad to see a post like this appear at all on Rennlist, but what is worse is that I can understand where Martin is coming from.

I know that some people have found some of Jimbob's posts amusing (I'll admit that I have myself, on occasion) but his posts are almost never helpful and can let down the otherwise helpful and constructive spirit that makes this forum the best.

Your Honour, the prosecution presents the following evidence: a recent thread which was 'assasinated' by the defendant.

<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=007183" target="_blank">B&B triflo --&gt; emperor's new clothes? </a>

Evidence Item no.2: I was offering to help another Rennlister, and JimBob effectively called me untrustworthy even though we are complete strangers. I was quite insulted but said nothing thinking that perhaps I was having a humourless day. (Hey, it can happen to anyone ) See entries 8 and 9 of this thread:

<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=006606#000000" target="_blank">Thread: These offsets sound right to you? </a>

No. 3: another sabotaged thread:

<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=007186" target="_blank">Who makes MY2002 996 18" wheels, surprise, its </a>

I will leave the verdict to twelve men good and true to decide...

(this thread has the potential to explode )

Jeff.

Thanks for your support. I find jambob to be offensive and contributing in a big way to a drop in morale on the Rennlist. How can we be expected to ask serious questions and post serious answers with some clown lurking in the shadows. I have requested that John pull this clown down and give the rest of us a break.

Ohhh Martin you are in for a fight! Don't you know who the "bubba" is? He is an old Rennlist member and usually he directs his comments in a way to bring "order" to this board.
I really don't blame you, his comments on your post I did not get either and why he had to make them. This board has changed alot from last year and I guess the year before. Before it was more technical and there was a huge fight and a lot of blood shed regarding OT postings and in general the direction the board was heading. Someone wise last year told me that these things happen and usually after the dust settles everything is peachy again. Some of the old members have left or got bored or moved on, a lot of new ones joined with a lot of enthousiasm and passion which I think is what its going to keep this board alive. I used to be one of the founding members of the 968.net now I still visit now and again but the board is definately not the same. New passionate owners have joined and that board and still after all these years the same questions, same passion, same enthousiasm so in a way the board really has not changed, it's just for me not the same. I guess the same feelings some of our old members here have and "Bubba" is one of the by products of people resisting the inevitable change. Don't blame them really maybe this is something I would not choose to do either but not everyone is the same.
So don't get upset my friend...by the way I really like to see the pics from your latest version of your car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Danny,

You wrote, "Ohhh Martin you are in for a fight! Don't you know who the "bubba" is? He is an old Rennlist member and usually he directs his comments in a way to bring "order" to this board."

If bubba is an old Rennlist Member, now I understand, senile dememtia! I for one don't think we need a clown to bring direction to the Board. We have John Dunkle, and until recently we had Viken. I have heard that Viken is no longer a moderator. If this is true, we have a big loss on our hands.

Senile dementia or not, get rid of jamboob! Jamboob has got to go!!!!

If he does stay, could he PLEASE make his avatar smaller? Having to look at that huge picture of him messes with my digestion of food at the end of a long day! Plus, you have scroll over to the right of his HUGE pic just to read his comments.

Heck - there's boneheads and troublemakers on lots of web forums out there. Trolls, kids pretending to be adults, etc. I say, scroll through the postings you don't like, and don't let em bother you.

My probably unwanted 2 cents.

Martin, and the entire board

I've noticed the departure, or scarcity of some regulars, and have missed them. I had wondered what had happened.

Your post raises a question for me, and perhaps a much bigger issue.

I know this board is a place of shared knowledge and information. I find it incredibly valuable for that. And it has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of my cars. I truly love Rennlist.

So I'm wondering now what is the place of wit and humor on this board?

In my almost three years here, I've come to consider many of you my friends, even though I've met only some.

In my other friendships in life, kidding, joking and fun has always been a major part of the relationship.

I've always approached this board as I would any other friendship. I've wanted it to be fun.

I know, and respect the fact that, not everyone has the same definition of fun.

So what is this board all about?

Mike, I see your point and I agree the list would be worse with no humour at all, BUT:

a) JimBob's 'signal to noise ratio' is perhaps too heavily biased towards the 'noise'
b) His humour can be offensive

There are some natural borns comedians in here, and I am the last person who would ask them to stop <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I should add: I am not suggesting that JimBob be removed. I hope that would never be necessary. Maybe he could reduce his avatar size and lie low for a while?

I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones as I have never read any of Jimbob's posts. I don't speak or understand his language. In order words I ignore him.

Since I've never tried to interpret his language I don't know if his posts are mean spirited or not.

I can say his big avitar does need to go.

Martin,
Say no more. JimBob will go away. Many of the comments in this thread are right. JimBob is a long time poster and I have continued to post under both JimBob and my real identity. JimBob has always tried to be 'stoopider' than anything else on this board and has tried to slip in a tiny bit of value in a terrible signal to noise ratio, as someone else called it. The problem is that JimBob rarely posts the 'stoopidest' things here, nor is his signal to noise ratio much different than many of our gurus, or whatever they are called now. To each his own opinion, but if you can't find any humor in JimBob, I suspect you are also unable to laugh at yourself. Just to clarify, in the past, people seemed to have enjoyed JimBob. Up until one of the recent forum changes his email was available and comments ran about 5 to 1 in favor of his posts. From this thread, I can see that is no longer the case.
With that then, I will no longer post as JimBob and I think I will go away with my real posts too.

Yur Fren,
JimBob

I have always wondered how JimBob got his spelling. Must spend a lot of time and thinking preparing his posts; wonder if that applies to all other posters?

I am troubled that some have enough time to spend on dividing and creating sides. What makes Rennlist so interesting is the combination of personalities and experiences. I am sure we can agree on that. So what is your point, really? If there is one.

Cordially,

Jan
