Features a valve that opens and is actuated by an electric switch connected to the rear spoiler harness. If my AltaVista translator is working properly the valve opens at 130 Km/h (80 mph) and closes at 70 Km/h (43 mph).
Ruf claims 7-10 hp according to the sales person, although I did not find this in writting.

Guys,

Are you sure we are taling about a 993 system here. This sounds like the 996 system. Those spoiler speeds are for the 996....just a thought....

Macca,

RUF spoiler control unit operates at different speeds than OEM.

Macca,
I have the installation papers unfortunately they are in the mother tongue, Porshe's not mine, and my German is not good enough to do it justice. However the title of Ruf Sportauspuff Carrera 993 is fairly simple to translate.

I believe from looking at the pictures that the flow would go through the path of least resistance, (Other wise there we would never know about exacta leaks) and the U shaped tube will take as much flow as it possibly can until resistance to flow was equalizes between the by pass tube and the internal baffles of the muffler.
