Cool Installed new shifter - mods have begun!

So far I had only spent money on making the car perfect, you know, brakes, tires, clutch, relays, spoiler wall, resistors....

Now the madness has begun- I know it's a small step but I was pretty close to the edge when I made that step ! ;-)

And this is the car the shifter resides in (taken on the back of the Sebring pits)

Looks Nice.... As long as you were there, you should have also installed a short shift kit to really kick off the mods

Greg,

I have the same interior color combo in my Cab, and just ordered that shifter from Tweeks. Looks great! I also just installed black Loyds mats... I think they look awesome contrasting against the tan.

Richard

I also have a tan interior in my 98 cab and put in black mats. Also installed black shifter and ebrake and also center console. Big improvement was installing black leather door inserts (the 8" x 25" long slab)...contrast looks very good.

I did not do the short **** kit. Frankly the throw as it stands is fine by me... I've heard that SSK reduces travel but requires more force to change gears, I like it the way it is now honestly. Not dissing the SSK, just happy with what I have.

Installing this (shifter from tweeks) was a joke. Took under 5 minutes and that includes opening the package. That said I had read all the info I needed beforehand on this board or P-car.com so I knew what to do.

FYI: Pop the existing boot from the left side, remove, grab shifter lever under boot in pliers and pry upwards with the same screwdriver. It moved a bit, then I pulled on it and it came right out (it's just a rubber part squeezed on the metal shifter on my 96, no screws). Install was a breeze, push down on the new one and reverse install for boot. It took longer to write and proofread this than it took to install the shifter ! ;-)

Greg.

FYI everyone... this shifter is now $179 at Tweeks, usually $219. You do need to mention the code number at the bottom of the ad in Panorama or Excellence to get the special price.

Hey David,

Looks like we have the same taste in wheels... I'd kill for a good old 2 stroke. NSR or RZ500 would do the trick. Must be nice!

I had an RGV250 imported from Australia. Great bike. Best handling bike I've ever ridden. Two strokes are heaven on two wheels
