IMHO the shifter doesn't look.

>you going to the parade/floatilla at saddlebrook this weekend?

Not sure, can I get in with just a PCA card ? I did not register for the parade and received contradictory responses to whether or not I could spectate...

>IMHO the shifter doesn't look.

No, I swear it looks !!! ;-)

Tell you what though. That shifter does not "feel" ;-) Kidding, but it's a bit light and a bit small compared to stock or probably the Gert replacement. no biggie, but it feels tiny...

Well, just received my shifter from Tweeks and I'm a bit disappointed. I thought that it was going to be a nice aluminum, but it appears to be plastic. And one of the numbers looks like its already partly rubbed off.

Anyone know of any other good quality replacement shift *****/boots?

i thought about the tweeks shifter too. but, thought the shift pattern looked a little cheesy. Some shifters look good, but don't feel good; some feel good but do not look good (to me). After trying a few different shifters, including a relatively pricey carbon fiber-aluminum piece, I came up with my own concotion. The 996 **** is leather and a silver plastic/resin. Your mind might prefer real aluminum over the composite material, but your hand won't appreciate the temperature extremes! It looks good, and feels great! and when you are driving...you should be doing a lot more feeling it than looking at it!! max

As much as I like my NSR I would love to have an street-legal Aprilia RS250 in the States...and maybe one day get an old RG500 Gamma or RZ500! But one of the bikes I've been lusting after for the last 3 years is the rebuilt Nortons from Kenny Dreere www.vintagerebuilds.com ...check out the sound/video clips!

The great thing about 2 strokes is the look on the faces of guys riding 750 or 1 litre 4 strokes as you dive inside/outside with very little braking and pass them around the turns....but then of course they just blow by you on the straights

speaking of TZRs etc. i have a 250 TDR. these were not imported to the US. a 250tzr engine in an enduro chasis, with one FZR brake disc on the front. a little to peaky off-road, and not too much fun on the highway, but great FUN around town!! sounds awesome, and is quite light.

Max - sounds like quite a hooligan bike! I had a chance to ride a KTM and it seemed like a great bike for getting around town and throwing around!

Motion, go to Gert's site. The carbon combo options look great and are a snap to DIY

I second PWC's recomendation...I went with the MY02 996 carbon shifter and ebrake from Gert....a very clean look, but on the pricey side. You may want to consider the TechArt aluminum ball shifter that Gert sells...I think another Rennlister has installed this on his 993... I think this looks very nice as well.
