Default 997 wheels on 993?

Hi,

looking for advice on wheels:

current setup is Targa 17” wheels, looking at the 997 Carrera 5 spoke wheels
18x10 et 58. Tires 265 35 18
18x8.5 et 52. Tires 225 40 18

Will I need spacers, will they fit?

Yes, they will fit your Targa. No spacers necessary.

Nam,
Are those aka Carrera III wheels?

I ask because I really like the top wheel I posted below; whereas the wheel below it, looks bulky and heavier, and is what I understand as a Carrera III wheel. (This is not to say I dislike the Carrera III wheel on a 993).

If the wheel image on top is not a Carrera III-wheel, can someone please identify?
TIA,
Paul

Hi Paul- I’m not sure what the top wheel is called. The bottom wheel is definitely Carrera III. Having said that the specs given by the OP don’t look right if they are indeed C3’s. C3 NB should read 18x8 et57 and 18x10 et58. WB rears are 11”.
BTW the C3’s are very light, same ball park as MY 02s.

I think they are called Carrera S. At least that's what they were called when we ordered our 09.

Current tires on the rims are 275-35-18, do you think it will rub?

I do not believe the 275's will rub with the MY02 wheels, as the offsets are less aggressive in the rear than the offsets mentioned in the original post.

BTW, those are MY02 wheels, not Carrera III's. If 8's & 10's the offsets are ET 50 & 65, F/R respectively.

I think they are called Carrera S. At least that's what they were called when we ordered our 09
Craig,
Thank you for the clarification on the Carrera S wheels. I like the forged look of the web surrounding the spoke!

They're not '997 wheels. They are '02 996 wheels known as MY02 Carrera wheels.

My understanding is that 997 Carrera III wheels only come in one specific width and offset for front and rear: 8" in 57 offset and 10" in 58 offset. 997.362.136.00; 997.362.140.01.
Do they fit both NB 993 and WB 993 without spacers? What are the widest tires that can be fitted to a NB without rubbing?
