Fan Shroud Air Duct
I recently discovered that my air duct (officially called Fan Shroud Heater Outlet by Pelican Parts) was breaking apart and just very brittle from heat and age apparently. I am not even close to being a mechanic but I actually was able to remove the old and replace with the new part. If anyone sees they have a similar situation you can do it yourself with only a 10mm socket or wrench needed. I bought mine for $54 plus $6 shipping from Pelican Parts. The number for the part is 964-106-403-02. My 993 is a '95 with a build date of 6/94. I believe the part number may be different for a '96-'98 and not sure on a late '95 build. The parts man at Pelican seemed quite familiar so I'm sure he will steer you in the right direction. Hope this post has some value for someone.

I am trying to get the right part for my '95 993 cab. Buddy says 964 part fit his '98 993 C2 coupe. Pelican displays a warning they "can't confirm this part (964...) fits my car". The 993 part is 1/2 price for OEM Porsche part than the 964... OEM part. Any late updates on this? Thanks.

Right on! VIN needed to determine
Yes, I just hung up with Scott at Pelican Parts. He needed VIN to determine p/n for that part. I needed the 993 prefix part. Even in same M/Y varies depending on engine build apparently. Interesting. I ordered it from PP along with a bunch of other 993 parts. Also got lots of detailed info on my car including DOB, and options I didn't know about. Scott was extremely helpful and to time took ensure all was in stock and correct.
