Default can you tell me what this pipe is ?

I found that this pipe leaks some oil.

Can you please tell me what the oil is and what the part number of this pipe is ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think you are referring to the AC line? The oil looks like it was dripped there when adding oil just forward of the ac line. Wipe off really well and keep an eye on it.

Thanks for your reply. If this pipe is AC line, can you tell me what the part number is ?. When I look into the catalog, it is hard to find the part number.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me the part number is ? My mechanic thought that it is connected to steering pump. (Unfortunately, he has no experience on this car.)

Because my mechanic has no experience on this car, I need to order the part by myself. So, that's why I need to know the part number.
Someone who lives in a town where Porsche dealer is may not know the part number. But I live in a town where Porsche dealer is not. That is why I need to prepare every part and tell a mechanic what part needs to be repaired.
I hope that you understand why I want to know the part number.

Thanks,

Hi Aprion,

Stace made a good suggestion. If oil was perhaps dripped on the power steering line, as could have happened when servicing the car or checking the engine oil with the dipstick, then there is no need to replace this power steering line. So, if you clean the oil off this line, then observe if it reappears or the fluid in the power steering reservoir goes down, you can determine whether the line leaks, and if replacement is necessary.

Thanks for your kind suggestion.
Right now, there is no sign of any significant leak from a steering reservoir or engine oil line.
I will observe them for a while.

Chances are, oil dripped on the line is NOT what you’re seeing. They weep at the ends, and breakdown over 20 years. I replaced both of mine, Turbo, not fun.
What you may wanna consider, is pulling line and taking it to a trusted diesel truck repairman. They can rebuild the lines to better than oem, for a substantial savings. I didn’t think of it before hand, after shelling out for factory parts. :-(. Regardless, if you’re considering doing this, just do it! It either already needs addressing. Or it will fairly soon.
