Default Bumper Cover Off - PM to do?

Guys,

I removed the front bumper cover in preparation for a TT cover coming from Gert. I was wondering what other preventive maintenance should be done with the bumper cover off?

I am installing new ballast resistors for the oil cooler and A/C heat exchangers as a precaution (the originals look and test good, however). How you guys ever changed these w/o the bumper cover off is a mystery to me!

I am replacing the usual hardware items like speed nuts, foam pieces, screws, nuts and bolts.

What about the motor and fan assy on the heat exchangers left and right? Should these be replaced now while they're accessible? My car has 27k on it. In two years on the board I can't remember anyone having had a failed fan motor or these being much of a chronic problem.

Thanks for any input and Happy New Year to all.

PS: If anyone needs a bumper cover in a couple of weeks (Arena Red, bumperettes removed, plugs for license plate bracket, Invincashield installed) let me know.

Why don't you add the OBC function while you are at it, I think there is an empty connector by the left side signal light where you can hook up a temp sensor for the OBC.

The rest of the wiring is more difficult, and you will need to get a OBC tach.

Mike-
Second Robin's suggestion about the OBC. In fact, you can pick up a tach with the OBC display here:

No affiliation, etc, etc....

Robin,

Glad to see you dodged the AK47's on New Years Eve and are still kicking.

You know, first you talk me into the TT bumper cover and now you want me to go further. You're such a bad influence....

Mike,

I sent you a PM... I'm interested in your bumper cover. My Arena Red one has a small ugly spot that was there when I purchased the car many years ago... almost unnoticeable except to me.

Hope to hear from you...

The OBC is a computer readout in the tach face. I thinks its described in the OM. Has readouts that are selectable (with the steering column stalk?) like MPH, OAT, MPG, etc.....
