Preferred trade...high mileage or accidents?
#16
Thanks for the info Mike. If only I lived a few hours North... The average for a '96 C2 that I have seen has been low to upper 40's USD. Again, from what I have seen Targa's are upper 40's to low 50's, and C4S's well into the 50's and up.
I'm wondering what it would take to have a Canadian car titled in the US, and if the price difference would make it worth it? Does your friend have a website or email address? I would just be in the information gathering stage, but it may help me expand my search possibilities...
Oh, and my two cents on your question: I would take the mileage over accident damage any day!

Hi Joe,
My understanding is that the US and Canadian cars are virtually identical, but don't quote me on that.
I know it will have to be inspected, heck I even had to get it inspected when I moved it from Toronto to Vancouver. Not sure about California emmissions, but we have some pretty **** emissions testing here as well.
Don't know the tax implications, but you figure if someone can make a business out of it...
The "friend of a friend" does not handle high end cars but pickup trucks and normal automobiles. I have talked to him about getting a pcar in the US but he had no lines on any. Why don't you open a fresh topic on importation from Canada and see what the list will say? This topic is quite buried down in this thread!
I would go for a Vancouver car over a Toronto car due to the weather, but if price is a factor the Toronto ones are cheaper...
Good web sites to comb include www.autotrader.ca and www.globeandmail.com, www.autonet.ca, etc. I found my car at globeandmail.
I will send you a private message.
